Agree. But with Staines recent struggles to take runs and make metres, he is not going to be picked unless there are injuries. So we need a new combination.
The lock down right edge of Crichton and Staines was obviously the long term plan, but now with Staines struggles that’s not an option unless through injuries.
So they have to work on an alternative. A Crichton / Momo combination seems the best RHS defensive option for finals football than any...
Thats what I would prefer to see, Crichton right centre, Momo on the right wing.
But there must be something Ivan wants to work on during the last couple of rounds, where getting ready for the finals is more critical than the win, given our round 1 play off position won’t change.
Depends on the reason or rationale behind the change. Maybe Ivan is putting Crichton on the wing because he wants him to work on his tough carrries out of his own end for a couple of games. Maybe he wants to give Momo more game time at centre as he will will be the back up centre to Crichton and...
I have a totally different view on Hook as a coach and on his performance this season.
They may have won 8 games, but 4 of those came in the first 5 rounds, and they have fallen of a cliff since then.
His style of coaching and lack of communication wears thin on players and assistant coaches...
So your response to multiple Injury forced position changes is to do more position changes?
You dont move Yeo from his vital link role unless there in another ball playing option on the bench to replace him.
What hard yards are you referring to?
Also, you don’t not pick a player just because he has signed elsewhere for next season. Especially not in a premiership chance season, and when you already have a reduced roster due to Covid.
You don’t know the reason nor rationale behind the change.
Maybe Ivan put him on the wing because he wanted Crichton to work on his tough carrries out of his own end for a couple of games. Maybe he wanted to give Momo more game time at centre as he will will be the back up centre to Crichton...
Yeah he is going terrible. Just won his 19th game, an equal Penrith record, from 22 starts this season. Will have the Penrith record for wins as of next round. Has beaten coaching greats Bennet 2 from 2, Robinson 2 from 2, Bellamy 1 from 2 this season as well. Has developed a fantastic team...
But is that only for those already in QLD though?
If I was the QLD premier, I wouldn’t reopen the border to NSW at the moment without a quarantine period for those entering, given the 200 plus new cases every day.
Would that be the same Ivan that has debuted Tago, May, Hopgood, Smith, Too, Crichton, Kenny, Burton, Martin, Leniu, Staines, Naden and Burns over the last couple of seasons?
According to Foxsports, Crichton and Staines are equal 5th in the NRL for best assist/try combinations. Even more impressive when you consider Crichton has also spent time at fullback and left centre this season.
Not bad for two players that aren't rated very highly by some of their own...
The SMH reporting it as well. He is already back in QLD and been given equipment to train with whilst in lock down:
Meanwhile, Penrith received a boost with prop James Fisher-Harris returning to Queensland on Sunday where he will quarantine the next fortnight. There were fears the powerhouse...
Hardly a surprise what Weidler wrote in his article today about Kikau. If they dont get him signed at a reasonable rate before November 1, I’d prefer they let him go rather than offer him $800k plus to match other offers...
He didn't get involved enough against Broncos considering he is now an origin winning half and was the senior player out of the 6,7 and 9. And that grubber kick he took trying to ice out the game but gave away a 7 tackle set, looked a very nervous kick.
But I agree with Girds89 that he has been...
