    2021 RLWC draw

Isn't Taupau currently still playing for NZ too? I cannot see Samoa doing much. They should make it to the QFs, but no further. An off-day against France and they won't even get that far though.

    When/why did the logo change?

Thanks for that, I hadn't noticed either and I fanatically follow them on social media. To be fair, I like them both, as opposite as they are from one another. If you look closely, there is a subtle reference to the old RLIF logo in that first one. Since they now ditched it to become IRL...

    When/why did the logo change?

Did I miss something? or did they officially announce that they are changing logo? Seems to have just happened without them making any mention of it.

    RLWC21 "challenge"

I agree with the above and I think in general, looking at the way they've scheduled the event and matches etc. I think they have done it with TV broadcasting as the first thought and no thought was given given to the ambitious fan wanting to take in as many matches as possible.

    RLWC21 "challenge"

Yes Tonga vs PNG for me is a must-watch! I think they should have taken that match to the larger Middlesborough stadium rather than Tonga vs Cooks, but either way, will still be great to watch. And yes, am keen to see Jamaica and am hoping they can put up a decent fight. My interest in...

    RLWC21 "challenge"

Respect. I think that is doable but make sure you have a solid 'getaway plan' in place, so you can be out of the first stadium and on the road as quick as possible. To be honest, I am more excited about the group stage than the knockout stages. Seeing all these new combinations of teams...

    RLWC21 "challenge"

A personal goal of mine is to get to as many matches as possible. Just looking at logistics only for a minute (not cost), here is what I have come up with so far. Wherever a match has fallen on the same day, I have listed the distances between each stadium (and in green, the distance between...

    Pacifique X111

As you can see from my previous comments, I am massively skeptical of this project. But I have to say, I am very encouraged by the fact that they have gotten straight to work since making the announcement and seem to be making genuine efforts to put some solid foundations in place between now...

    Euro X111

Exactly, there seem far too many flaws in the plan for it to work and there seems to still be a serious conflict in their core ideas between being amateur and pro. Between bottom-up and top-down development structures. I also find it odd that (aside from the Spanish and Italian rep on the...

Australia withdraw from 2021 RLWC ..................................... well one of them anyway :)

To be fair, this is by far the least important one of them all and I am still a bit torn as to whether it should even exist in the first place. If Students RL is a potential vehicle of opening new avenues of funding, then I am all for it. Otherwise, I don't believe it belongs in event as...

    Euro X111

You do make some good points. I think I would just feel more at ease about this if more established teams were involved. There are teams in Serbia, Czech Republic and Ukraine that are now over a decade old. I know that is an infant compared to Aussie and UK clubs, but it's a much firmer...

    Euro X111

Come on, you are joking, right? I get 'important', but 'more important'? If a sport I am indifferent to, let's say, field hockey, was being played in a beautiful stadium, it would not make me any more likely to watch it, or to stay tuned in once I flicked onto the channel it's playing on. As...

    Euro X111

This right here, is the biggest flaw in the Euro XIII plan. They say they want to be an amateur competition, but also with a broadcast deal. Amateur sport, does not appeal to any broadcaster and will struggle even to appeal to the most diehard of fans!

    Song about USARL

Yes it must have been either right before or right after WC 2013, because it was clearly filmed in Australia. I know it's old, but just found it interesting. This is the kind of brainwashing aimed at young kids that I could really get behind! :P

    Song about USARL

Has anyone seen this? The Wiggles, it seems are massive RL fans and made a song about USA Rugby League! Sure, it's from the Tomahawks days, but still, not bad. They have a few other RL-related videos too.

PNG Digicel Cup Aiming for July 4 Kick Off

It can only benefit all parties if he is allowed to play! Obviously the only slight risk is if he picks up a long-term injury. PNG Hunters players have already been granted permission to play for local clubs this year.

    Euro X111

One interesting thing that hasn't really been mentioned in all of this. Dean Buchan is CEO of Spanish Rugby League. What has he done / is doing? He has said himself that there has not been domestic matches in Spain for the last two years. Perhaps he should start by fixing that before trying...

    Euro X111

Won't be effected one iota I would imagine. Don't get things confused, we are talking about a League vs Cup. In France they have dozens of teams playing in League competitions week-in week-out. This Euro XIII is a cup format with intentions to evolve into a league in the future.

    Euro X111

Mate, I am a big fan of yours, but I have to say, massive pet hate of mine, it's: XIII no X111 as you have been writing it lately here and in other threads. I expected better from a true treiziste like yourself! :) Now, regarding this Euro XIII thing, I have to say, I listened to the...

    Pacifique X111

I accept your point about the 3 North American teams getting more exposure to higher ranked opposition. But seriously, please do some research before you write. Jamaica did not "go" to Wales. They played them in Wakefield, with 100% UK heritage-based players. Jamaica could not afford a trip...
