    Just how bad are wales ?.

    The northern hemisphere in general is looking woeful. Against Southern Hemisphere teams so far it's 8-0 and the points add up to 378 - 50. That's with Samoa v Scotland, Fiji v Italy, PNG v USA and Australia v Lebanon to go. At this rate the only group game they might win is Italy and Fiji. Maybe.

    To be fair, I think the groups were picked to keep the Polynesian teams together and all but ensure PNG get through, which is good. I have little sympathy for Scotland because they shouldn't even be there, but it's a shame for Wales and USA who have far more homegrown talent than most of the others.

    If Wales, Scotland and USA had been put in a group together it might have been a competitive group. Alas they're all in different ones and none have a hope of winning a game.

    These two teams between them have played in the past four WC semis, along with the big three. The fact Wales did it in 1995 and 2000 and Fiji in 2008 and 2013 shows how far one has slipped and the other has risen.

    Will the RLIF take responsibility for all this? Scotland shouldn't even be there. If they're allowed to play in other RLIF events in the next few years or allowed to be part of qualifying for 2021 the whole RLIF needs throwing out.
