The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Probably, just thought it seemed a fair few up there and weird there were a couple sections empty whilst the others were crowded if that was the case. If they can let people sit on those middle sections around the scoreboard it’d be good if they could put 1-2k Northern GA/Standing tickets on...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Definitely looks like they allowed people to sit in some sections of the hill but not all for Anzac Day. I don’t think these were sold as extra tickets.

    Sustaining&building upon current NRL boom

Doubt they’d ever go for a whole round overseas let alone in the UK with shit time zones for Australian audience. A game the same weekend as Vegas, week after WCC could be doable though.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

That’s my guess too but I am sure for the Anzac Day game they had a few hundred people sitting on the Northern hill. Whether that was supposed to happen or not is another thing, they might have just turned a blind eye to it. It might look mishmash but even if they could rope off the sections...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Should be one or two of their Redcliffe games moving to Suncorp as well. 1, maybe 2 is enough at Kayo.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

So Warriors have sold out every game this year, most of those weeks in advance. Any chance they can get all or parts of the Northern bank re-certified for a few thousand GA tickets next year at the very least? And/or get some temp seating up that end as well behind the fanzone.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Warriors can surely try and at least get the Northern Banks ticked off again for a couple thousand GA/Standing tickets. 2,500 would be a 10% increase in capacity while they work on a better solution.

    2024 Crowd Watch

The problem I have with that is you’d think the Tigers should be planning what’s best for the club going forward instead of just the best offer. In Campbelltown they have an opportunity to carve out their own market and get a nice little 20-25k stadium at some point. Allianz could then be used...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Agree, Allianz games should come at the expense of some Leichhardt games. All other games at Campbelltown and work with the A-League team for some upgrades.

Potentially 6 sellouts next week. Games at Auckland, Perth, Gold Coast, Cronulla, Penrith & Belmore should all sell out or go very close.

Definitely needs more RL content. Roosters & Rabbitohs as full time tenants (except Good Friday). Dragons playing some or all of their Sydney games there, Tigers for a big game or 2 instead of Leichhardt. That would take it to 20-25 games per year which is much better than 10-11.

    18th club, whose next?

Yeh not a fan of reducing season length that drastically at all. Means we’d start after the AFL, have a lot less content to sell to broadcasters, derbies would only be played once a year etc. Defeats the purpose of adding extra games each weekend if the total package is smaller, good luck...

    2024 Crowd Watch

I’d expect more build up starting Monday which should help sell the rest. Especially with Perth shaping as favourite for the 18th or 19th team.

    2024 Crowd Watch

Good idea. Probably lucky they’ve already sold a decent amount for each already but yeh agreed it’ll be touch and go for 40k now. There’s also the away game at Suncorp Vs Dolphins which could affect sales of the Eels & Storm games. Dolphins might get a few more on the bandwagon though.

    Broncos averaging 40,710 so far, total of 407,095. Numbers needed to beat record averages: 1. 43,200 (1993) - 111,305 @ 55,653 per game. Gone. 2. 37,705 (1994) - 45,365 @ 22,683 per game. 3. 35,902 (1995) - 23,729 @ 11,865 per game. 4. 35,032 (2010) - 13,289 @ 6,645 per game. 40k Average -...

    2024 Crowd Watch

I’d hope they make it 1 Thursday, 2 Friday, 3 Saturday & 3 Sunday games every full week for the 9th game. 10th game if they expand to 20 will almost definitely going to be a return of Monday night I’d say. That will most likely mean 4/10 game aren’t the best for crowds. That can be somewhat...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Austadiums says 13,000 seats, hard to imagine they’ll let 9,000 in on the hill. 5-6,000 seems closer. I could be wrong but I thought the Manly game there earlier in the year sold out in the end? that ended up about 16k. Good to see a sellout regardless.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

QLD government aren’t doing themselves any favours by going completely quiet on the stadium situation after announcing the plan. They could at least be plugging what Suncorp could look like post upgrade, going in to further details about what the QSAC upgrade will include and the transport links...

    2024 Crowd Watch

It will be 3 sellouts this weekend with Wollongong nearly there. Potential for 5 20k+ crowds in Auckland, Townsville, SFS & Suncorp x 2, don’t think Wollongong actually holds 20k any more otherwise it could be 6. Canberra and Parramatta might not be great. Parra season over and Canberra gets...

    2024 Crowd Watch

For the newest team who are still very much in the early stages of building and solidifying their active fanbase, it is pretty disappointing for sure. Sure they are still getting decent numbers but they could be getting better numbers with a bit more promotion surely. Sunday being a classic...
