Did anyone other than cowboys or tigers supporters care?

I was happy to watch a somewhat boring grand final because it was the grand final, but i think the reason it was boring was that no one cared whether it was tigers or cowboys, everyone loves both teams. I was literally not going for anyone. Usually there's a team you like more, or completely...

    The dumbest RL article ever???

If anyone tries to watch a super league game they'll realise he's not far from the truth. Super league is boring one out play from tackle 1 to 5 and then a kick. It's monotonous and tedious, and boring compared to NRL football.

    Sanity & HMV confident

they got the same one for the tigers, just as you can find shirts with cowboys as premiers out already. It's to allow pre orders

    The 'Premier' Premiers...

People don't seem to rate the roosters of 2002 just because of the dogs scandal, and that's inevitable but unfortunate as well. If you look at that side, it had 15 former, current, or future representative players in the side, at test or state of origin level, maybe more, but i wasn't sure of a...

    salary cap question

I remember the strange situation that prop Todd Payten was in, when having been forced out of two clubs mid contract due to salary cap constraints, he played at the tigers and was for that one season being payed by three clubs, raiders, roosters, and tigers (for whom he was playing). My...

    New Relocation Idea

Here's an interesting idea (and a joke). If the Rabbitohs relocated to the central coast, and merged with the Bears at the same time, you'd mix South Sydney with North Sydney and the result would be the Central Rabbitohs/Bears/whatever other name you can come up with.

    COWBOYS WIN!!!

What about that, how far do you think they'll go?

    A better Finals System

What happens to the winner of Game G? Do they just disappear for some odd reason? That's one hell of a finals system.

    NRL FINALS CALCULATOR IS WRONG

Tell me, have you actually looked at it?

    NRL FINALS CALCULATOR IS WRONG

I just checked it, if you look at the Mcintyre System diagram displayed on NRL.com, then Roosters (assuming they win today) will meet either the Storm or the Bulldogs in the Semifinal. It's either the diagram or the calulator that's wrong, cause it screws up the semifinal spots.

    Stripping rule

It's actually not that complicated. If he breaks free, and there's no one on him, the stripping rule is reset. So once there's no one on him, anyone's allowed to strip it one on one.

More profitable to play out of Telstra

It costs a whole lot more than what the Tigers can afford, even more so for lighting. The cost goes into the millions, however it's not the tigers that own the stadium. The stadium is owned by the council, so "stop the rot" wouldn't stop at the proposed two million if they really wanted to turn...

Maybe it was a good decision

The way i understand it, the ultimate target is to be able to fund each club an amount equal to the salary cap. To do that and add a sixteenth team, all the NRL needs is 14.5 million dollars. Now as far as i understand it, it's not that much money for an organisation the size of the NRL, not to...

More profitable to play out of Telstra

I read yesterday (i forget where) about the economics of playing at Telstra Stadium. Basically they summarized the reasons for a move out of leichardt. Turns out it'll be a lot more expensive than the two million dollars to "stop the rot" to make the ground even slightly profitable. They have to...

    I Hate Friday Night Football

Don't get me wrong, i was at the game supporting my roosters, and i was extatic at the win. The fact remains though that people are saying the Roosters were amazing, which they weren't, it was all Penrith. One of the tries saw Campbell move up off the line about a meter, leave the most blatant...

16th team?! VOTE ! or Have your say!

Gold Coast, by a long shot. GC is the most in danger of losing its "rugby league heartland" status of the three bids. I don't think AFL is gonna hit Wellington and it's not like rugby can get any more of a hold on NZ. I'm generally against putting any more teams in NSW for any reason, it's just...

Free To Air (FTA) TV deal discussion

Channel seven will big for both AFL and League. It had first bidding rights, and after nine's response, they then have last bidding rights on AFL. Either way, nine can't hold both sports and won't, which will result in better coverage of the NRL.

    Should we follow the AFL?

Like i said before, it wouldn't be neccessary to consolidate into only two grounds. It would be better to build stadiums a little smaller than the SFS (much like what the dogs wanted to do with the Oasis project) and have about two or three teams share them, leave Stadium Australia out of...

    Should we follow the AFL?

I don't think it could be done in Sydney. Sydney is in fact a much larger city and the teams are spread out a lot moreso than in Melbourne. Eventually I think it will happen, but not with two stadiums, maybe 4 spread around the entire city, it's just more financially viable.

Richardson (and 12 other clubs apparently) against expansion

I think that $25 million is what the clubs are losing altogether. But with the new TV deal, i'm pretty sure that the NRL will increase the funding that it gives to the clubs, and a 16th team will be no problem.
