Cleary almost paid for his mistake big time though through his inept management of the side!

So you bench NSW's best in Game Two for their worst. I can see how Bellamy is considered the best coach in the NRL :sarcasm:

To be fair, it's probably to help Pearce settle in to the halfback role, considering Gidley loves to play first receiver for the Knights even from fullback anyway. No idea why you'd do this in the decider though.

Good call by Bellamy, Gidley combination with Buderus will assist the Blues.
Really?
I'd think it could potentially be detrimental to NSW because he's messed with the team that is already very differing from the last game.
Gidley is an electric fullback but how will Stewart be coming from the bench?

I think Stewart will move to FB and Gids shift between Lock and Hooker. All depends on Bedsys game time really.

Bit of sour grapes over Witty's bench spot eh WF? ;) It was a strange call I don't doubt, but it did work out well in a way. But that's only the third time he's done it and he only really, from memory d id it this year. Not in '06 or '07

It might have worked against the fading Tigers, but I doubt it would work against many other sides.

29 minutes for him was a farce.

Yeah, thats what this is :sarcasm:

Seriously though, I can't see the point in playing your only specialist fullback from the bench. Why pick Stewart in the side at all if Gidley starts at fullback.

I rate Gidley, don't get me wrong, but I am at a loss as to why you would drop your best player from game 2 in the decider, especially when he is a 1 position player.

I agree that on the surface it looks puzzling but leaving him out of the first 20 physical minutes will leave him fresh for the other 60 to throw himself into the game. Could be a master stroke

Do it Bellamy! Leave Stewart off all game, I want a fully fit and firing Stewart for the Titans clash.

It won't make an ounce of difference if NSW's forwards are smashed like they were in Game 2.

Anyone heard anything about Anasta being out for tonight and Mullen coming in (not in relation to the ankle problems on the weekend)?

Just heard a rumour...And I'm hoping it's just that.

Edit: Disregard. I'm calling shenanigans.

As opposed to leaving Gidley out of the first 20 physical minutes which will leave him fresh for the other 60 to throw himself into the game. Isn't that why Gidley is selected as the utility?

If Stewart doesn't start, then he may as well not play IMO

It could also mean that Qld score points in the first 20 because the specialist custodian isnt there.

Could it be that Bellamy has lost his mojo ?

I won't believe Stewart is on the bench till I see it. However it seems like a crazy idea, who has a fullback on the bench as a utility? And while we're at it why are there two props in the team? Uggghhhh! Blues had better win.

Um didnt Qld have Slater, a specialist FB, on the bench in game 2? They won that game pretty convincingly too so maybe this is a case of fighting fire with fire.

Yes but when Slater came on Hunt could move into F/E or Lock...Stewart cant do that.
