I'm gracious in victory because we were lucky tonight, Sharks were unlucky but we really needed those two points

I only heard about it on ABC radio but they thought it was as clear as day.

Either way...what a sad way for Thommo to finish his career.

I was there.

Looking directly at it.

I saw the ball the whole time, and at no stage did I lose sight of it...if it went over, I would have seen the ball disappear for a second behind the goal post.

However, that could be rose coloured glasses i dunno...but tbh I didn't see it go over.

If it did...thats tough...it was ruled out...it may be sh*te...but there were plenty of decisions in that game that went against Penrith as well...like the "knock on" which was a strip and led to the Sharks second try...take that away...you wouldn't need golden point.

What kind of comparison is that Big Mick? I'm not having a go at you personally but mate that decision doesn't automatically allow one side back in the game. For Hampsteads sake I hope he's correct otherwise there will be hell to pay.

Not saying there is a comparison at all

Just my perspective on the kick..

and quite personally the Sharks fans there were a bunch of pricks...I was sitting front row of the new grandstand with my best mate who is a Sharks supporter, and we had a beer thrown at us at the end of the game and got told off being scum etc etc...it was pathetic.

I would normally have sympathy for a team that deserved to win, but stuff em, suck sh!t...those fans deserve the loss and i'm stoked they lost.

Thompson's try shouldn't of been allowed anyway since Rooney was tackled in the air. Judging by the replay it looked like Kimmorley missed only just but he missed Wesser also indicated he missed. Cronulla really blew the game by not going for field goal sooner and Penrith ground out a great win in the end.

Junior Paulo had a great debut for Penrith also and was arguably Penrith's best.

Feel a bit sorry for some of the sharks players like Bird and Thompson but yeah if they're ungracious in defeat I don't really feel sorry for them.

Just saw a replay of Kimmorleys's field goal attempt on Fox Sports, there was no way it went over. It didn't have the distance and came down next to the padding on the right goalpost.

Panthers spoil Thompson's farewell with Golden Point win
Written by: Michael Edgar; April 19th, 2008 9:34pm
The Penrith Panthers have defeated the Cronulla Sharks 21-20 in golden point at Toyota Stadium this evening.
All signs pointed to a Sharks victory and when Lance Thompson crossed in the first half, the fairytale for the retiring stalwart looked set.
Even late in the game the Sharks looked in control but the Panthers never gave up and running into a stiff breeze managed to stage a remarkable comeback that was capped off by a superb touchline conversion by youngster Jarrod Sammut.
