I find the Sea Eagle's argument to be rather interesting and to a degree I can see their point. The NRL is well and truly dictated by the salary cap and really a game like this can come down to the recruitment style of a club, quality or quantity. Looking at the unavailable players from both sides I believe it's fair to say Manly had far more expensive players on the sidelines as opposed to the Dragons.
On that point who cares? This was always going to be the case heading into the game so I don't believe Manly fans should be too disgruntled with the loss. In the end, the Dragons fans were treated to a fantastic performance and they've got a right to be elated. Don't fret though Sea Eagles supporters, there were certainly some things to be happy about with your side and I believe if they're good enough, these two will meet again in different circumstances, with that said...
Aside from the Dragons usual suspects how good was it seeing the likes of Michael Lett and Nathan Fien show their wares? Both players impressed me immensly and I'd love either at the Broncos right at this minute (hell I'd kill for Bennett, maim for Justin Poore).
On the other side of the coin I'm really enjoying the form of Ben Farrar, Matt Ballin and George Rose. It's great seeing these guys find their potential after being shafted else where and boy Hasler's done a great job. Foran also looks to be a great prospect.
Last point, while I feel robbed of a great contest (thanks NRL admin for not addressing the issue...) I'd love to see both clubs go at it at full strength - could you imagine how legen-dary that contest would be?
