*checks* um yep.

Im not putting the boot in, im just calling it how i see it. A few times he should've put in the kick but he kept it going through the hands... and we got a crap kick away as a result. The the chip with nothing on, you could see it coming a mile away. Pressure got to him imo

Oh is Soward immune from criticism or something mate?

No mate, just some of your comments regarding Saints over the year have me scratching my head.
Pretty sure it was the Roosters game at Kogarah you were into Soward also, yet he won the match on his own for us.

I don't see how the pressure got to him, what was he meant to do without the ball and with a beaten forward pack?

And with regards to his chip, we were down by 10 points with 5 minutes to go, did you want him to do a deep kick and just let Canberra eat away time?
He tried something to spark us and get us going again.

I dont rememebr the Roosters, but yes i was into him during the first half of the Storm game. I dunno what it is, i guess i just have massive hopes/expectations for him. I want him to lead us to a premiership. Meh, maybe i should stay away from the keyboard until fulltime :p

**edit* And i will add, my comments are nothing compared to some of the stuff ive read on Jubilee over the years.

yeah but they wont be playing for canberra though lol ,thats the biggest issue with the raiders keeping the talent .I doubt the nucleus of this great squad will be around in 2 or 3 years let alone 10!

quite a few are locals , Croker has already stated he wants to stay his whole career and Dugan has said something similar. we arent signing anyone for next year we are concentrating on these juniors.
Our future will be ok.

You have to remember Soward is still inexperienced and I don't think he alone can pull the Dragons through the finals, guys like Weyman, Poore, Creagh and Hornby have to all play out of their skins and then off the back of that guys like Soward and Morris will reap the rewards.

Awesome match, awesome crowd and awesome win. Croker just gets better and better, he seems to have gained a huge amount of confidence from out doing Hodges.

Still wont stop Bee Sting &all the other commentators placing canberra in the bottom half of 2010 predictions.

Nor should it to be honest
we've showed this year when we play to our ability we're just about unbeatable, but a few sunny days doesnt make a summer. Until we show we can do it week in and week out, we shouldnt be considered a threat, we could do it next year, or we might have another year like this one, and do it the year after and so on and so forth. But god help the NRL the year we do it, because no one will see it coming and no one will believe until the NRL trophey is being held above the proud, ranga head of Alan Tongue

I need to get me one of those premiership shirts with Bennett and the NRL trophy.:crazy:

The Eels and Dogs will tear the Dragons a new arsehole based on what I saw tonight from the Queens.

Legend, In your haste to post another venom filled diatribe, you may have missed this.

Dragons Planning Update and Facts
Dragons Management recognises that a home final has been secured and discussions are underway with the NRL as to where this match on the weekend of September 11-13 2009 will be played.

Dragons Red V Members, Corporate Partners and fans can expect a decision in the week beginning August 24.

Tickets for this match will be available for sale to Red V Members on Monday, September 7 through Ticketek and they will then be on sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 8.

Red V Membership numbers have continued to grow throughout the year, reaching record levels with ticketed and non-ticketed Members currently sitting at 10,828.

During this week Management held the second Red V Members Forum for the year at St George Leagues Club with over 120 Members in attendance. The Red V Members Forum is an opportunity for Red V Members to interact, discuss and provide feedback, as the Club is in the planning phase for next season.

Topics discussed on the evening included: Venues, Ticketing, Membership, Game Day, Website and Merchandise.

Dragons CEO Peter Doust informed the Members that the Club was in the midst of planning for the Finals Series and the 2010 season. Research has been undertaken at all home games with Members and Non-Members, the NRL research programs have been analysed and assessed and the Members provided feedback on their views of 2009 and the future.

In addition to this, Dragons Management have also sought to survey other sporting codes and rugby league Clubs all as part of due diligence business planning in the context of assessing business strategies surrounding the upcoming Final Series and in preparation for the 2010 season.

Contrary to certain assertions today, Grand Final T-shirts have never been discussed or ordered, such a product is managed by the NRL and their licensees.

Dragons Management and players are certainly not getting ahead of themselves but are looking forward to and planning for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in the coming weeks.

Congrats on the win tonight, shame it was for nothing, at least we'll get the opportunity to progress after round 26. Enjoy mad monday.

Personally I think despite the Dragons losing, they didn't play that badly, I just thought the Raiders got a roll on in the second half and on the back of a big home crowd.

They are the good type of losses, similar to the Sea Eagles v Dogs game a few weeks back.

Wayne Bennett looked embarressed that he was the coach of such a grubby and pathetic performance tonight. You can't blame him.

Don't worry dragons fans, melbourne couldn't win down here either

Although one of them thought they had the premiership in the bag at half time:lol:.

Not sure if this is directed MY way or not.

But IF it is ........ my post was FAR from suggesting the comp was in the bag. I went to great lengths to say "anything could happen". Do I still feel terrible for saying "we're ready", and then witnessing our worst half in ages? Yes I do. But I never said anything was in the bag.

You have to laugh at yourself sometimes. But in all seriousness, most people watching that first half would have thought the Dragons have done well. In years gone by, there's no way they could have come away at half time 12 up. In a nutshell that was all I was saying. I beat myself up a bit in the next forty because I can laugh at myself and not take myself or my sport too seriously.

PS ...... anyone out there that doesn't realise the whole 'premiership T-shirt' story' was a desperate attempt at relevance by an even more desperate journo hack that no real coach wants a bar of is kidding themselves.

The sooner we get news limited out of rugby league the better we will all be. Surely i can't be Robinsoe Crusoe on that one.
