Manly were handed that game by the refs just like the Broncos were on friday night. It might not be really "set up" but it's as good as when refs run the game so the teams they think should win do.

Is Covell going to cop an infraction notice too?!?

Absolute disgraceful refereeing.

That was absolutely disgusting. The single worst refereeing performance I think I have ever seen in my life. They didn't even try to hide the fact that they were being one sided.

If Jason Robinson EVER referees first grade again, it will be far, far, far too soon.

I'm in shock. Absolute shock. I simply can't believe that this bunch of pelicans is considered competent enough to be in charge of a first grade fixture.

This is yet another reason why Robert Finch simply MUST resign or be sacked WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. He is solely responsible for the sheer and utter incompetence we saw on display today. I'm sure even Manly fans will agree that this is a hollow victory.

Honestly, what a joke. If that is a send off offence, we'll see 2 or 3 players sent off every single game from here on in.

Disgusting. I hope Ricky Stuart unloads both barrels, he'd be more than justified.

Sharks fans deserve to feel completely ripped off. They busted their guts for 53 minutes of the game with only 12 men and deserved to win the game. Disgraceful refereeing has cost them big time. And it wasnt one or two errors.....there were at least half a dozen including the two big crucial ones, the send-off and the penalty at the death. Ricky has every right to give a spray at the media conference. 2GB are going to go down to it when its on.

f**k me, watching such inept officiating does make one at least ponder the possibilities of corruption. Is it really possible to be that incompetent?

Controversies aside, Manly will only be a token presence in the finals and will be out in straight sets as they were in 2006.

I have never left a game where my team has won feeling like we lost. Manly were disgraceful, I still can not believe we won that game. The Sharks deserved that one, being down to 12 for nearly 75% of the game they did well. The send off was terrible, I nearly fell of my chair when he marched him. The only way they can defend that decision is the fact Bailey did not return to the field.

Well now the Sharks know how I as a Knights supporter felt back in 2003 when Tim Mander sent Clint Newton off in a game and we lost by 2. In both these instances the losing teams would've won had they had their full compliment. I dare say Sharks fans will hate Phillip Haines for a long time just like I still to this day hate Tim Mander.

Didnt see the game but it sounds as if Manly have been gifted back the points that were robbed of them against the titans.

Was that against St. George? If so Newton deserved to of been sent in that game.

The crowd do seem to influence the referees up there more than at most grounds. I remember back in 2003 Simon Woolford being sent off for a tackle even more innocuous than today's one, the difference being the Raiders went on to win 51-16 anyway. Today, the Sharks didn't stand a chance and it's not because they weren't good enough.
