Those saying it's impossible in the laws of physics for momentum to mean he hits it forward and it goes backwards, how about a pass thrown backwards that travels forward because of momentum.

On replay I thought it would go to Manly, but hey, isn't bitter tears the best post-match entertainment?

This might have been said before, but surely Lyon's injury has healed enough for him to take the GK duties off DCE?

Put it this way. 99/100 that is called a knock on despite it not going forward

Now if Manly had held a 12 point lead it would have been pulled up straight away, but since the Cowboys had a handy lead the refs called play on, not knowing it would result in a try. Its part of the 'close the gap' policy they seem to use i.e if a team is that far behind, lets not pull them up on our usual calls.... But in this case they had to go video ref and he called it like just about every other knock on is called.

Hell, we even saw one tonight in the Titans game that came off Greg Birds chest called a knock on, and we've even seen falcons called knock ons. At the time it probably didnt seem like a big call because Manly were so far behind, but now because of the tight finish it appears as if its the only thing that cost them the game, which is complete crap

That's what many have mentioned already tonight, very strange he hasnt been kicking, DCE just doesnt seem confident

Yep, all the 50/50 calls went the Cows way, imagine if we just got one of those calls.
Please Don't think I am trying to take anything away from the cowboys they were very good,
But from a refs point of view:
* Manly penalised for offside from kick off, cows clearly offside from 2 kick offs and and a drop out but no penalty.
* Stewart Penalised for high shot off coming up off the ball, but yet Hoppa smashed high in the ingoal looses the ball thurston dives on it and that was fair game.
* 2 blatent cowboys knock ons missed in the run of the play during the match, then the big one Sims knocks the ball out of Stewarts hands, lyon clearly knocks it back and manly have a try disalowed for a knock on
* Hoppa gets kneed in the face by a sliding feet first defender in the art of scoring a try and no 8 point try.
* and to top if all off the penalty count ended up something like 9 - 4 to the cowboys.

Cowboys were great
Eagles looked to have stolen it at the death and were pretty good considering
Refs were a disgrace.

Congrats to the cowboys

The better team won but the calls we received were still very frustrating and denied us a chance of victory, despite not playing as well as the Cows.

Only because of the dodgy calls. Of which there were many. Our 1st half was poor because of the calls.

The penalty count in the first half certanly didnt help, Bowen did play well to create those tries in the first half

Refs helped Manly beat Cronulla and now have cost them this game.

Things always even out at some point.
