Credit and respect to the Roosters. Their defence was fantastic and they gave away a ton of penalties but still hung on. They've stepped up their game over the last few matches and it's hard to remember that only 8 days ago, they were staring at potentially 3 straight losses.

Manly gave absolutely everything they had but just couldn't find that last pass to get over the line. I'm very proud of the effort and they never stopped trying. They clearly missed Brett Stewart and the creativity he brings but young Hiku was terrific.

Anyway congratulations to the Roosters.... too good tonight.

i thought maloney with his try assist and defence could have got it, i guess hiku was busy tonight though.

I think by far the most amazing thing about the match was that Maloney made some great tackles, try saving tackles.

Earlier this season I was cringing every time he attempted to tackle, I felt embarrassed for him. Now he's pulling off try savers.

Fair play to the roosters but the manly attack was pathetic

Watmong and Stewart need to retire..they were horrible

Hiku seems to be a very good player who just lacks a yard of pace to convert opportunities. Keeps looking like he'll go through but not quite making it.

Perhaps take the two anytime in the roosters half and back your own defence to hold them out. Manly would have won 8-4 if they took some easy penalty shots tonight.

ps.

so true, but such is the mentality of league players.

but each time they would take it, they wouldn't be able to build the pressure and makes em look weak.

still a cracker of a game!!

I thought Manly should have taken the two late in the first half when they had consecutive penalties in front.

Being only two ahead would have caused the Roosters to think twice about the tactic of giving away repeated penalties in order to avoid being scored against.

The referees don't hate them, they are the worst two ill-disciplined teams who give away penalties like it?s going out of style.

BUMP!.....As I predicted

The penalty count was 12 times higher then the manly score!!

What shit ill-disciplined side manly is gave away 12 penalties
Drop ball dumb arse mistakes.....watmong....you made me laugh....hilarous to watch him play.

That was epic. The defence was insane from both sides, but the Roosters were just too good. Massive props.

As much as I'm sick of seeing Manly in Grand Finals, I'm up for another match like that...
Hell, time to bring out the DVD. Even watching the replay this morning was amazing.
