Whilst moylan is undoubtedly a large loss (and a ridiculous one) IMO grant is a much bigger one in the context of the game. The tigers pack could actually get on top of the panthers now. If that happens, considering both teams are fielding nsw cup strength back, Benji Marshall COULD be the difference between them.
Grant is definitely a bigger loss. But with his loss being to injury, not much point complaining about that.

Having the NRL step in and tell us if we use a player that has played the last 5 weeks and helped us turn the season around, that we will be penalised for doing so and instead having to use a shit player like Wes Naiqama is much harder to accept. His injury and eventual replacement was crucial to us turning our season around. We brought in a young fullback that was safe under the high ball and added a bit of ball playing and really opened up what our backline was capable of doing. Now we're losing both the ball playing and reliability at the back.

We have over over 2 million worth of the salary cap unavailable to play for us in this game, and the NRL are preventing us from using a reserve grader without penalty. :sarcasm: Granted most of that is because of ridiculous high contracts to Jennings, Grant, Coote and McKendry. But it's still a bit hard to accept that the NRL will penalise a team for using reserve graders when they have close to half their salary cap unavailable. They're making healthy players unavailable to us also, and forcing us to use blokes we know are shit.

It is a stupid ruling and I would expect some dispensation provisions to be written in but it is the way things are right now.

This is an NRL who wouldn't allow us to give long service discounts for an extra season to Gibbs & Farah because they were good enough to skip a progression step along the way before their NRL debuts

I'm still tipping us to win the game but very annoyed right now. We have a team worth so much less than the others yet can't pick the best team. Moylan was a show for rookie of the year possibly but we might not see him again in 2013, oh well stupid rule that defies common sense.

Apparently James Roberts is now out too. FFS. Was really confident about this game before the bye. Since then without playing a game we have lost Matt Moylan, Tim Grant and James Roberts. Was expecting to have a stronger squad to choose from, not a weaker one. Even if Matt Moylan was available, we're still weaker then we should be this week. How f*cking hard it is to get through 2 weeks without a game injury free?

The James Roberts injury is probably the reason we had Wes Naiqama come into the top squad at fullback rather then starting him. But I still would have preferred Simmo or Robinson at fullback with Mansour on the wing. Then have another big body on the bench... we're going into this game with no front rowers at all.

Are you sure about that,I think our team today wouldn't be worth all that much, although we might be paying them more than their worth in some cases.

Tigers have 3 of the normal starting 13 playing today. Farlow and spence would be lucky to make our full strength nsw cup bench

haven't seen any of the coverage just followed the live score. Is this a legit comeback or has it been gifted to them?

Reports of a large bursting noise are coming from the Penrith area.

Also it says a lot for the standard of the NRL that an injury ravaged Tigers team can win 2 in a row.

To quote Phil Gould, "No No No NO!!"

Ruined my perfect weekend of tipping - including Origin - screw you Penrith!

Tigers definitely lifted their game and dominated for a period of the second half. Also showed a huge amount of guts.

Having said that, Penrith showed an extremely disturbing lack of leadership. They definitely switched the intensity off and were unable to switch it back on. If they'd showed a bit of a composure they could have torn through our ruck defence. When they came back at an angle they looked like they could have punched through our defence at will.

Isaac John looks a player.
