That was premiership defense put on show by a team that is ready to challenge for the premiership.

Manly threw their best at us. They kept coming and coming. But their top gear, their 5th gear was not good enough to crack us. In crunch time we had an extra gear, the 6th gear, what I like to call the championship gear. Their best couldn't crack us, our best cracked them.

Now there will be the usual sooking from the losers about the refs or whatever else they whinge out about.

But it was very plain to see. Us at our best is better than them at their best.

Glad I tipped Souffs. They may not win the comp (I still can't go past Storm when the pressure is on) but they're definitely better than most on LU believe.

Came in expecting g the usual barbs about moaning manly fans and am shocked to see plenty of support for our cause. I have no problem with most of our penalties conceded (except that ridiculous penalty for Horo) but the rabbitohs were getting away with repeatedly doing what we were getting penalised for doing. Plus f**k Perenara for that ridiculous no try call.

There was hardly anything in attack because they spent the majority of the second half defending their line after some absolute bullshit penalties. Your defence in the first half was pretty shit and against fresh sides, fair refereeing, you'll get trampled.

Edit: also waiting for the media to label this an "Inglis Inspired Win". What makes me lawl :lol:

So people are either saying Perenara saw the ball on the ground and incorrectly ruled no try in sending it upstairs or he didn't see the ball on the ground and people want refs to rule on what they THINK happened.

Manly lost that game in the first half by giving away so many cheap penalties. Could have kept Souffs in their own half much longer, scored a couple more tries and would have been a good chance of winning from there. It was mostly Watmough, who just hangs on that bit too long. Refs were OK but I would have given that Matai try.

As a supporter of neither side I have to say that was an absolute carve up job by the refs on Manly. The number of cheap penalties out of their own half and 50/50 calls Souths got was completely ridiculous.

It's all good let them have their win. They did well to hold us out a few times. I don't know how we were twice as ill disciplined but what ever we lost. But we'll see what happens in September.. I'll celebrate our wins then not now.
