It was a terrible call... The ball was clearly on the ground n his fingers were on it, then for the 3rd ref to say the ball was rising? It was on the floor!!!!! To make things worse he gave Jennings a try that was just as iffy!!!

Like always Australia also gets the calls!!! Heads up England, this is about International RL n making it stronger, the referee have to stop giving Australia leg ups, happens all the time!!!

Why did his finger bend back if there was no pressure?

If you and others on here posting anti-Australian shit, you should be ashamed. NOT PART OF TEAM AUSTRALIA. TONY, TONY get their metadata and please action.

His finger brushed it. No pressure at all. In slow motion his finger is on it in one frame. He didn't even think he had grounded it.

It's not a try because he brushed the ball for a hundredth of a second before it went dead. No control. No downward pressure. Just a knock-on.

There was downward pressure, you just don't want to see it.

England's performance is irrelevant here. The fact is that Australia forced the appointment of their own officials despite the fact that there were supposed to be neutral referees, and then those officials denied a clear try in the last minute of the game that would have seen Australia lose the match. This is the same ARL BTW that will steal all of Samoa's players for next year's Australian squad, except there won't be any matches next year because they couldn't be bothered to organize a proper international calendar.

Do you understand why players like SBW, Burgess etc want to leave the sport?

So you honestly believe the Aussie officials cheated the Poms out of the game?

Hall doesn't even appeal for the try...

Doesn't there have to be conclusive evidence to overturn the on field ref decision?

Not fussed about the final decision, sure in England with an english ref it would have been given but home ground advantage and all that.

The sht decisions were the two penalties on 4th tackles for lying on on half way. Both gave Australia the field position to turn the momentum their way, one they fluffed the try, second time they scored. Given the usual wrestling and flopping not called both of these decisions were BS and pretty much decided the game. England had three golden chances to score and fluffed them giving the ref the opportunity to get Australia back in it.

Nothing I'm not used to and hopefully samoa can push them next week and nz roll over against us!

That rule, frankly, sucks. I've seen a lot of decisions this year where the ref had no idea whatsoever, and because of that, despite the balance of probability being in the alternates favour, the video ref has to go with him.

The best thing that has come out of the last 2 weeks is the improvement in international league. Samoa yesterday were also outstanding. If we stopped heaping such focus on the states and looked to focus on having 5-6 top quality international sports, we could take this thing a long long way. For that to happen, a lot of people in the media need to stop playing to their own self interests. I think there is a genuine interest, but its often forced back by listening to the media who wrongly rubbish it because of an annual flogging in a once off game every year.

Mate if props aren't making line breaks and creating line break assists they're just shit. Props who charge into the defence and make clutch tackles are f**king useless.

Haha.
I would encourage anyone who thought Woods had a bad game to just give up watching Rugby League because clearly anyone with that opinion doesn't understand a thing about the game.

Why did his finger bend back if there was no pressure?
Because the ball was bouncing upward against his finger and created upward pressure against his hand. He touched the ball for a hundredth of a second.

The referee said no try. That video evidence certainly couldn't overturn it... and let's be honest. No one thought he even touched it until a few replays were shown, including the player himself. When he doesn't get up claiming a match winning try, and none of his teammates are celebrating it. You know the referee has made the right decision.

But blame the biased video referee who could have made decisions earlier in the match that favored AUstralia and both times made decisions that favored England.

Yeah. I didn't have any issues with the on-field ref, but the Aussie VR deadset cheated. There are no other words for it. He didn't even properly look at all the angles and when it started to look more and more like a certain try he ended up playing the whole thing at full speed to make it look 'inconclusive', which has never, ever been protocol for checking a ball being grounded. If it was an English VR, or a Kiwi VR, or a French VR or a f**king Japanese VR the try would have been awarded. And the on-field decision was overturned BTW since the VR awarded a tap on the 20 instead of a drop-out.

The difference being the ON FIELD ref said 'try' on Jennings and 'no try' on Hall's. Massive difference. There has to be 100% proof that the decision is wrong. If we are still debating till the cows go down on both decisions (and we are), the on field decisions stay.

That's not even the international rule though. Only nrl uses that rule.

Well, shit way to end the game. It was one f**king frame so I don't really see how anyone can be too upset about the call.

Glad Sione played well. The try in the first half was always going to be scored regardless of what he did and was probably always going to cop the blame for it. Shame he didn't get enough ball and Walker was a complete spastic a few times. Should be picked again next week.

It's just disappointing that again it was the players with experience under their belt holding the side back from a better result. Woods played fantastic and should have received MOTM but that's Nine in a nutshell. Was also impressed by Klemmer.

Exactly.

It was those innocuous penalties for incidents we saw 100 times in the game that were the biggest joke.

Those two ploddy penalties turned the game.

Such bullshit. And despite all of Greg Bird and Daly Ploddy-Wazn's grubbiness at the end we still couldn't get a second half penalty.

Sutton had been given a directive. And he followed it to a tee.

And yes, I'm having a massive whinge. And it feels goooood.
