Pretty confident about this one. We are counting on our young guns a lot this year and I think a few are going to go to that next level.

I find it amusing that Broncos fans are laughing at the quality of this game. I would be looking in their own backyard. They well frighteningly boring footy, and have some ageing veterans and a lame duck coach. This for a side that has virtually a whole state to pick from.

Dragons are old and shit.

Tigers are young and shit.
Agree that we are shit, but not that we are old.

We signed Michael Witt (30 y/o) as a depth player .. but out of our generally understood best 17, I'm pretty sure our oldest player is Ben Creagh who is 29 years old.

Morris, Nightingale and Hunt are then the next oldest players at 27. If you count Bronson Harrison as part of the best 17, he's 28 years old.

I think we actually have the youngest average age in the entire competition.

It's bunniesman mate, he has well and truly proved time and time again he has zero idea what he is talking about

Tigers were (stupidly) among the favourites before last season, and this season they're among the spoon favourites with a better team. They'll go alright, better than the no front rowers.

That would be correct, I thought Fox News over the weekend said 22??

Seems wrong but even if it's 24, that's still young.
I just ran through the list and calculated it.

For Round 1, with Dugan out, and assuming Farrell and Beale are the centres (not Runciman), our lineup will be something like this:

1 Quinlan (21)
2 Morris (27)
3 Beale (23)
4 Farrell (22)
5 Nightingale (27)
6 Widdop (24)
7 Williams (22)
8 De Belin (22)
9 Rein (23)
10 Hunt (27)
11 Frizell (22)
12 Thompson (25)
13 Merrin (24)

14 Cooper (25)
15 Stockwell (22)
16 Ah Mau (24)
17 Stanley (22)

The average age of that lineup is 23.6 (probably closer to 24 because I only looked at years, not days).

When you include the rest of our top 30 (Dugan 23, Harrison 28, Runciman 20, Mata'utia 23, Garvey 20, Witt 30, Matthews 25, Green 21, Groat 21, Bird 18, Glymin 20, Ailaomai 22, Mataka 25), our squad's average age is 23.2 (again, probably closer to 23.5).

What about captain backtrack?

Woops, good pick up .. fancy forgetting my own team's Captain, such is his dominance as an on-field leader

Add him in place of Mike Cooper (with one of JDB / Hunt going to bench), and the average age goes up by 4/17ths of a year ... so basically bang on 24 years old.
