I wonder how Penrith are going to manage their origin players in the lead up to this game, after a top of the table heavyweight clash against a star studded Tigers team they'll be ripe for the picking

Broncos 13+

Nah, Ronnie Palmer will back up just fine. He's very fit for his age.

So now it's no Origin representatives that are the reason we're winning? last I checked, we only had two matches with Origin players unavailable for a maximum of 4 points. I back us as a better then 50% chance in both those games anyway.

Shouldn't a team with no players good enough for Origin be disadvantaged over all the other teams with elite players? We have no star players, so our draw couldn't be easy since we have to play stronger teams then us every week.

There's an obvious advantage playing against teams with either players missing or players backing up, you're being delusional if you can't accept that.

As for your other argument about having no players good enough for origin, while that may be the case currently your squad has players who have played origin but just aren't being selected at this moment in time. Which again, is an obvious advantage at club level during an origin period.

I'm not trying to make any excuses for when my team loses but if you can't concede that your club has had every advantage possible afforded to them (all except injuries which you can't help anyway) then I have no option but to put your team in the looney bin right besides Souffs and some of their hysterically deluded fans.

Yep facing Broncos after a bye with rep players having a 5 day turnaround which is the same turnaround many teams (not Broncos) have between regular season matches.

Panthers aren't advantaged at all this weekend. Broncos couldn't get luckier with their draw... long turnaround after Origin, bye before it. Pretty ideal for a team with rep players.

Throw in Panthers missing their 2 first choice halfbacks, and the excuses for a possible loss are pathetic. Better team on there night will win, Origin will play no part in the result other then potentially injuring players. But injuries are part of the game. Panthers have only had 4 players play all games so far. Segeyaro and Latimore who have been primarily benches, Whare who was injured 10 minutes into our game against the Eels and benched the rest, and Moylan who is the only weekly starting player to not miss a game. We just have good depth and a weaker top 17 then most teams, so we can interchange most players with little disruption and have people think we're not suffering injuries at all.

I'll let you in on a little secret. We at Penrith don't give a shit about Origin, especially dead rubber Origin games like tonight. It's just a Queensland wankfest. So bring your best side down, but expect it to be very cold at the foot of the mountains.

Yep. Teams with Origin players slaughter us Bulldogs, Titans, Newcastle.... Oh that's right we beat them and lost by a point to full strength Melbourne. Now we won't win another game now given everyone has origin players in their side

Win or lose, I'm more interested how Penrith handle their Halfback situation.
Peach could probably handle it, but how about Segs, and bring in KK?

The whole 'favourable' draw thing is a tad boring and those who choose to harp on about probably need to get a life.

For the most part most Panthers fans are just enjoying being competitive again and the fact we have had some good fortune in many respects and sit where we do is a bonus.

The NRL comp never really sorts itself out until the finish of origin so it's largely game on from here on in.

Our goal at the start of this season was a spot in the top eight, nothing changes, we have put our selves in a good position to achieve this goal. Two points against the Bronco's will get us that little bit closer to our goal.

Any Broncos players get injured last night? Everyone looked on fire and I would expect them to all be well and truly ready on Monday night to play against the Panthers.

Hodges and Parker should especially be in for big games on Monday night after their epic performances for Queensland.

I'm quietly confident we'll beat the Show Ponies even without Wal. As long as we're within striking distance near the end we could snatch the game. They have a habit of losing them late.
