What a load of dross. We should only judge our sport by what it's like at the top level, and it's obvious to me, that we should go to 11-a-side. Looking back to some of the play from the 80's and early 90's, there was more off-loading/ad-lib football. And obviously more space it seemed on the paddock.

It would help NSW too, as the halves and the No.9 would be able to have less influence on matches. My NSW 11-a-side team would be :-

Dugan, Ferguson, Roberts, Jennings, Mansour, Pearce, Sezer, Fifita, Peats, Taamow, Cordner. Int - Peter Wallace, Klemmer, Campbell-Gillard, Beau Scott

Can someone tell Laurie he was lucky to get 4 points from the ref following that forward pass from Maloney to Cordiner.

I went to the game and only just watched the replay of the no try to Morris, without blue glasses on, I honestly can't any evidence to support that the ball didn't touch the try line. I also can't see the ball touching the try line either. But given the fact it was given try by the ref, I would have thought it would have been give a try?

Not looking for an argument here, it's just my observation.

Did Gillet get MoM for just laying around till they blew a penalty, getting them that penalty goal?

Boyd should've got it for Qld.He was excellent.

You clearly didnt watch the game very closely.

Yes Boyd was fantastic, but this game was won in the forwards. Gillet was smashing blokes and made a mountain of tackles. Lots of hard runs when everyone else was buggered. And while the refs said the penalty was for a leg pull, if you watch the replay you'll see that he copped a forearm to the back of the head from a flopping blues player, which is why he was stunned.

According to NRL Stats Gillett made the 2nd least metres out of all forwards on the field (9 runs for 66m). Must have been an impressive defensive effort.
