This is salty bullshit.

While the issues that led to the SuperLeague war had little to do with the Broncos' monopoly of the Brisbane market, their absolute hostility to the South Queensland Crushers, and the part that played in the axing of said team, are legendary.

You guys haven't won a premiership in ten years lol. Manly are more successful in recent history.

Manly had a run of good years from 2005 (which in fact would have been regarded as a poor year by the Broncos) until 2014 but before that (as Northern Eagles for a few years) hadn't made the finals since 1998, when they qualified in 10th (!) place in a 20 team comp with an awful lot of shitty teams. They've done well in those years without the advantages the Broncos enjoy, but the party appears to be all but over now.

Is that all you've got? Why don't you mount a counter argument?

I know you are the town that can't spell beer, but why don't you elucidate why it is in the interests of Rugby League for Brisbane to beat Newcastle by 53 to nil?

If we go from when the broncos were introduced the raiders have more premierships than most teams. I support one of the most successful sides lol......not

Right, because we have the infrastructure on hand (or the political will and budget) to provide another NRL-standard stadium, crowds for the Titans are respectable let alone sustainable, and the local junior scene is anywhere near strong enough to provide for two teams in the Brisbane area.

Oh, wait.

Another team in Queensland is possible in the next 5 years or so if they put them in central Queensland, maybe based around the Comets and with a willingness to schedule games properly so that people in the region usually have travel time to get there and back home. Another team in or within an hour of Brisbane isn't going to be realistic for at least ten years, probably a lot longer.

Population is far from the sole factor here. If it was anywhere near as important as you're ascribing, the Titans wouldn't be floundering at the moment.

Why would you need a new stadium? A second brisbane team would play out of suncorp.

So you think there are only enough juniors in Australia's 3rd biggest city to sustain the broncos? Really?

Brisbane is not the gold coast, you cant use the good coast to predict how well a second brisbane team will go. The gold coast has always been a sporting vacuum.

Which would work how well, given the scheduling problems already present in the draw and the potential need for as many as four Queensland-based teams to be playing there during a finals series?

There aren't enough there to sustain the Broncos as is, hence the amount of players the Broncos bring through from far outside the Brisbane regional area like Ben Hunt or Darren Lockyer.

And yet people were saying the Titans were tailor-made to strip Brisbane of NRL fans who weren't already Broncos supporters, being so close and easily reached by public transport.

How did that one turn out?

Simple fact of the matter is that most people in Brisbane who aren't Broncos supporters are already supporters of an existing NRL team (usually the Cowboys or who are Sydney expats bringing their old loyalty up here with them) and who won't switch loyalties to another local team.

In the mean time the Central Queensland area has produced some gun players with little to no existing NRL affiliations. They're more interested in State of Origin and the Queensland Cup, since the NRL takes place so far away and makes a habit of gouging their players. Give them a team and a 20K seat stadium in Roma or Mt. Isa and you'll have a lock on the region.

Anywhere in or around Brisbane just isn't going to work.

Sydney doesnt seem to have a problem scheduling teams to play at ANZ or allianz which have numerous nrl, rugby and aleague games. Scheduling of finals games is not an issue, finals games arent played concurrently nor do the cowboys play out of suncorp for any finals game where they are the home team.

Gold coast were never going to steal brisbane fans, what a load of crap.

Hate to break this to you, mount isa isnt central qld and has a population of about 20k. Roma isnt central and it has a population of 5k. Lay off the pipe.

Lol @ using ben hunt as an example of brisbane not having enough juniors. No team has an entire team of local juniors champ. Brisbane has what, 7 qld cup sides that can feed into a 2nd team. Any new team anywhere is goinng to have to recruit outside of their region.

Your argument is so utterly ridiculous that you have to be trolling
