There's a reason I have barely bothered to post on here since I signed up and it's because this forum is filled with a bunch of the most ridiculous, illogical, hypocritical, sooky babies I have ever seen. Everyone's happy to claim that Broncos players are terrible until it's time to talk about how much they're earning based on their apparent skill levels (that you idiots in the stands worked out inside your own heads, apparently). This Broncos team is basically the same as it was 3 years ago when everyone was laughing at how bad we were, and we were bad. With some of your clubs you'd think the extra 80 years they have over the Broncos would have led to yourselves creating some benefits or advantages instead of creating hilariously inept clubs who struggle to make money or draw in young fans who want to represent your team.

I guarantee a huge amount of rugby league fans are the same kind of people who like to blame everything else for how terrible their own lives have become. In all fairness I think Tinkler did a lot more long-term damage to the Knights than Bennett. That's not to say he didn't do any, though. Dragging Darius Boyd into the place at great cost and precious little return comes to mind.

Haha that's pretty true. Even as recent as a few rounds into the 2015 season many thought the Broncos side was garbage and we're happy to make it known on these forums.

Lol when have the Broncos ever been 'bad', even their tough years have been mid table finishes.

The Broncos do get a whole lot of leg ups but they're a very successfully run club, Newcastle's front office has been a mess and there are habits in place that need to be addressed.
Money obviously does come into but look at Parra....plenty but still crud finishes (until this year).

The five-day turnaround: Brisbane wins again



However, the Broncos do seem to have really got the best deal from the NRL draw up to the end of Round 20:
• They play only one game with a five-day turnaround, against an opposition with almost the same handicap as well as having had to travel
• They do not have a five-day turnaround that involves genuine travel
• They play two sides that have five-day turnarounds, with both of them also dealing with genuine travel, and
• They play virtually all of their games at night so they can get in a good rhythm

In fact, year in year out the club asks for more Sunday afternoon games because those allow for larger crowds and more income. And every year Channel 9 puts them on Friday nights due to the ratings.

If you have an issue with the Broncos' schedule I suggest you aim it at Channel 9 and the NRL for handing over all scheduling power to them rather than at the Broncos who have no say in the matter and would rather play at different times any way.

The NSWRL/ARL saw the benefit of expanding into QLD and the Broncos turned around and f**ked them in the arse.

Right, because we have the infrastructure on hand (or the political will and budget) to provide another NRL-standard stadium, crowds for the Titans are respectable let alone sustainable, and the local junior scene is anywhere near strong enough to provide for two teams in the Brisbane area.

Oh, wait.

Another team in Queensland is possible in the next 5 years or so if they put them in central Queensland, maybe based around the Comets and with a willingness to schedule games properly so that people in the region usually have travel time to get there and back home. Another team in or within an hour of Brisbane isn't going to be realistic for at least ten years, probably a lot longer.

Population is far from the sole factor here. If it was anywhere near as important as you're ascribing, the Titans wouldn't be floundering at the moment.
