Let's not beat about the bush here - Newcastle are in a shit place as a club and it is mostly their (or their previous owners and coaches) doing.

No amount of social tinkering would make Broncos mediocre and Newcastle good at this point in time, or last night's game any less of a flogging.

BUT Brisbane are the most advantaged team in the comp, and denials and sooking by Broncos fans just because people are pointing this out is cringeworthy. Closely followed by Roosters, Souths, and Bulldogs, (and should be Parra), and Storm but at least they're competing close to each other, or in hostile territory in Melbourne's case.

What this means is that when these teams have a shit season, it tends to be 1 rather than 5 or 6. It doesnt guarantee success but makes it easier to achieve and easier to dig out of a hole.

Brisbane has a really unique set of circumstances where the second largest rugby league city on earth can only support one team. Hull can support 2 teams and it's smaller than Canberra.

Mt Isa CQ???? Hahahaha!

CQ is Rockhampton and surrounding areas. Too small in population to have an NRL team.

Sydney doesnt seem to have a problem scheduling teams to play at ANZ or allianz which have numerous nrl, rugby and aleague games. Scheduling of finals games is not an issue, finals games arent played concurrently nor do the cowboys play out of suncorp for any finals game where they are the home team.

The first week of finals, teams can play at their home ground.

The following week they have to play at the nearest major stadium, which for Queensland-based teams means Suncorp. This could mean a need to stage one sell-out level game per day over a single weekend out of Suncorp.

Gold coast were never going to steal brisbane fans, what a load of crap.

Yet that's the line that was sold. That there was a large enough contingent of disaffected Brisbane NRL fans who disliked the Broncos who would immediately transfer their loyalties to the Titans.

It didn't happen then, it's not going to happen with a second Brisbane team either.

Hate to break this to you, mount isa isnt central qld and has a population of about 20k. Roma isnt central and it has a population of 5k. Lay off the pipe.

Those are what's referred to as CQ in the local parlance and are the other regional centres aside from the Coast, Brisbane itself, and Townsville. They are where another team actually would have a ready-made support base.

Lol @ using ben hunt as an example of brisbane not having enough juniors. No team has an entire team of local juniors champ. Brisbane has what, 7 qld cup sides that can feed into a 2nd team. Any new team anywhere is goinng to have to recruit outside of their region.

Yet what we're seeing is that the Queensland juniors system can barely support three NRL-level squads. Arguably four if you count Melbourne who recruit pretty heavily out of Queensland since the Victorian base is even smaller still. The Titans are struggling to locate and retain enough local talent, putting another NRL club in will further dilute the stocks. Even raising a Queensland Cup team to the NRL isn't going to help much.

Your argument is so utterly ridiculous that you have to be trolling

Or possibly be someone who lives in the area, has seen what's actually happening, and hasn't been blinded by the Sydney logic of "If we can support 1 team per 600 (ish) thousand people, Brisbane can too" when many Sydney-based teams are foundering any way because the population base alone is clearly not enough to sustain a team.

Wrong. The cowboys can play all their finals games in townsville. This was changed years ago.

Im done arguing with you. Every point you make is some of the stupidest things i have ever heard in my life.

Agreed with C H.

You lose all credibility Nightward when you start claiming utter shit that all the QLD teams have to play at Suncorp come week 2 of the finals.

Lol you are kidding yourself.

Brisbane could easily sustain 1 maybe 2 more teams. It wont happen because the Broncos will veto it. Cant have the Broncos sharing all the resources that are on offer in a city of 2 million people.

Brisbane needs another team just to bring the broncos down a peg or 2 and to remove some of the advantage they have of being the only team in a big city.

You say this like every other club doesn't already share our resources/player pool.

While the issues that led to the SuperLeague war had little to do with the Broncos' monopoly of the Brisbane market, their absolute hostility to the South Queensland Crushers, and the part that played in the axing of said team, are legendary.

Yeah the fact the crusher were shit and run by idiots with a shit coach and shit recruitment eg Garrick Morgan, mike ford, and st john Ellis
That was all the Broncos fault.
They had every chance dickhead

Is that all you've got? Why don't you mount a counter argument?

I know you are the town that can't spell beer, but why don't you elucidate why it is in the interests of Rugby League for Brisbane to beat Newcastle by 53 to nil?

I don't understand this argument. Teams have been flogging teams for 118 years without a peep from anyone. What's the difference now? It involves the Broncos and everyone likes to have a whinge when they are winning.

Why would you need a new stadium? A second brisbane team would play out of suncorp.

So you think there are only enough juniors in Australia's 3rd biggest city to sustain the broncos? Really?

Brisbane is not the gold coast, you cant use the good coast to predict how well a second brisbane team will go. The gold coast has always been a sporting vacuum.

How many Brisbane juniors does your club have?

Every club has advantages though and nobody points that out, that's the issue. Constant hypocrisy by NRL fans. NZ have a whole country, Melbourne has a whole state, Sydney teams leave Sydney maybe 6 times a year etc. yeah the Broncos have a lot of advantages but everyone acts like we're the only ones and that's just ridiculing whinging.

This post makes far to much sense for this forum.

Haven't heard a single whinge about the cows who smashed st George 40-0 then pumped souffs who are supposed to be good.
Typical anti Broncos bullshit from all the usual suspects.
You can smell the fear of yet another Broncos premiership.

I dont think the broncos are cheating the cap but they have huge advantages over a club like newcastle. Especially newcastle right now.

It seems to be bronco fans getting weird which is odd because they won.

And you think the Roosters don't?

A couple of years ago Souths and Rooster dominated the comp, including the Broncos.

All we are mostly seeing here is the usual cycle. You are all just crying in your tits because they are Queensland teams.

You could restrict things to make the comp even tighter, but at some point clubs like the Knights have to take accountability for their mess and fix it. then players will want to go there.

Players dont want to come to the knights because we dont have a $2mil TPP cache. We have to pay overs to get them which eats up the salary cap really fast.

A player that we pay 600k for, the broncos would only pay 4-500k for and make up the rest in TPP. This gives them an extra 200k in their salary cap to spend. Its a double edged sword.
