Yes.

But will that same club be willing to drop $2m to run junior development teams?

You are confusing the issues here.

Perth needs a junior rep program as well as a feeder team
This was what I was saying, you either want a successful NRL team from day one or a pathways, unfortunately there isn’t enough $$$ for both.

Its ridiculous. I have to give up the team I currently follow to jump to the bears to prove I'm a league fan. I assume very league fan in Brisbane has to follow the broncos or redcliffe to qualify as a fan.

Would you give up your current team and support the Perth Reds/Pirates?

Its pretty clear that every partnership is different lol.
Even for one club, Bears have allegedly paid souths, been paid by rooster and paying and receiving nothing from Storm!
Not allegedly, Souths cost the Bears a pretty penny, I’ll ask my sources and try and find out how much, I can’t remember but I just remember so many members whinging about the financial arrangement especially around Semi Final time when Souths would rest all of their players from the NSW Cup Finals and people would say why are we paying them for ?.

Yeah, I thought they added one. Perth just needs a feeder for a few years. As you said Mounties would be interested, Wenty Magpies, Not sure if the Jets are off the table. Exciting times.
What with their history with the aerospace industry and money being invested to get it up again in South Oz I always kind of liked the idea of Adelaide/South Oz teaming up with the Jets. Unfortunately, Jets prob don`t have enough to offer though.

For any perth team fully owned and operated here. This is the thing. Everyone here who follows NRL already has a team. The new team will be trying to get them to change their colours which isn't an easy thing to do. They will need to be an attractive option to do so. A Sydney club waltzing in telling everyone how things are done will only may them less attractive.
People are very parochial here, they booed Gilly when he played for Australia at the waca because he took Zoehers spot. It's backwards but it's real, Qlders are the same

Yeah Jets bring the name but no junior structure

Perth needs a WA jnr rep program funded by the NRL club.
And a NSw or QLnd, or both pathways program fudned by that LC.

Where have the Bears said they won't get that?

As I said in another thread. Having 16 year olds be able to finish school with their mates before moving to Perth is a bonus.

A team of WA locals will get flogged intially, You could have 2 u17's and u19's. Feeding into a reserve grade team and so on.

The WA side of things will take time but you don't want the new team falling behind the others

Yes, they need both. The developement teams needs to be set up in Perth though. Otherwise I dont why you would expand here.

Why would they have one?

Storm are the best example because they are in a non heartland. Up until this year they have had bases in QLD, NSW and got a few from Victoria.

If you think Perth or anyone can rely on locals only then you are in for a rude shock.

They will have guys from all over a football manager will oversee it all, They will be based in Perth with the NRL side but no reason they can't have a local team and an East Coast one

Wests tigers have two pathways, so it doesnt mean anything. Anyone can be poached at anytime, a gun North sydney junior with more likely rather go to a sydney club then move to Perth.
Possibly pooling all your resources into just the one maybe the way to go with a NSW Cup team.

Yes, and Melbourne do it without being owned by a sydney club. They use feeder clubs
Your arguing my point.
