Mate, PNG isn't going to be sustainable without government money.

Then they won't get approved.

There are 18 different stake holders all caring only about themselves.

If there is nothing in it for them they won't allow it.

Like they did with the Dolphins $5mill grant increase, the NRl is allegedly giving them a $2mill bribe. They dont care if PNG goes tits up or not, they care about that extra $2mill in the bank.

You think that will keep guys like Politis happy?

Or the QRL and NSWRL who are taking ARLC to court won't ask questions about longer term?
yep I think it will keep them all very happy. They are all making a profit now off the back of the last expansion pay off, add in another $2mill and I'd be happy if I was a club owner! PNG making it or not wouldnt matter to clubs, in fact theyd probably be seeing it as an easy 2 points.

The states are going to court over money, again a bit of a backhander is all they care about.

I mean if you are talking business case how could it possible stack up as a stand alone? Only way I can see it does is if
1. The stadium gets massive upgrades
2. Theres confidence there are 20k fans who can pay NRL prices for tickets and merch in port Moresby
3. Theres a big enough sponsorship portfolio to hit NRL level revenue in corporate box sales and sponsorships

Maybe that is all there, but its seems highly doubtful in a developing nation wouldn't you say?

Anything could happen up to 2027 and 2030, we may have another outbreak of Covid and everybody from WA will lock their doors and close their blinds in fear of the deadly virus lol.
Geez WA might close its borders and the Perth Bears would have to relocate to play out of North Sydney Oval and Central Coast Stadium.

Okay that doesn’t really answer what I was getting out.

You seem to be in the know, so I wanted to know if you knew if the Bears people are open to moving the one NSW home game to the Central Coast Stadium?

I think that would be a safe no lol Why would they? If you were going to t take it anywhere it would be to Allianz to maximise commercial returns.

I highly doubt that they would atm but as I said we are looking at probs 2030 a lot can happen between now and then.

You love your big Stadiums, imagine Perth playing a regular club game at Optus Stadium instead of HBF Park, let’s just hope the people of Perth turn up.
I could see a successful Perth club playing Warriors or Souths in a season opener of finals game at Optus in front of 30k+. That would be great.
HBF will be fine for run of the mill season games that will get 15-20k at.

NRL will be paying the $2m a year not the bid team. Throw in the club grant that is $50m a year PNG is costing.

The revenue doesn't grow if the NRL is forking out that each year because the business model doesn't stack up.

Like the WA bid, You would expect the big mining companies to be onboard.

Santos naming rights for the Stadium for starters becomes more valuable.

Again the NRL doesn't want to lose money on expansion so will have all the ducks in arow or won't go there.

They could bring in another Brisbane team and get more from TV, PNG is a want not a need

no one in the media is talking about Brisbane Tigers... It's all PNG and Perth Bears.
What's your point?

No bid has received more attention over the last 20 years than the Bears. They still don't have a licence.

When Simon Fordham spoke about Ch9 wanting another team in Brisbane you dismissed his comment altogether. You are a hypocrite.
