Surprised at how empty the stadium is when ever Ive seen hunters games, is it a decision to keep crowds low to avoid any trouble or is the rl mad nation not interested in watching the hunters?
It's the same when digicel Cup games are played there as well.

Must be a cost or travel issue.

The $2mill bribe, is that a year or one off? If yearly that’s $340mill to clubs over the ten year deal. Is that funded out of govt money or nrl coffers?
We'd need to see the full details but it sounds like it would be part of the Govt funding as a licence fee as Vlandys has consistently spoken about expansion needing to be of benefit to the existing members (clubs)

The order of which these prospective franchises enter isn’t set in stone. There is a very good chance Perth Bears will be team 18 and not PNG - who might well be team 19.

What is fact is PNG need a giant financial leg up to be ready and Perth don’t - and Perth don’t because of the association with Bears and their set up (which I have explained at nauseam - to which keeps getting side stepped on here…).

There can be a thousand articles released between now and 2027 and it wont change the fact that the NRL will not be assisting Perth or any other prospective new franchise like they proposing to assist with PNG. So these prospective new franchises really need to look at the Dolphins model as the only assured thing the ARLC and stakeholders will look at seriously. Start ups with no resources and no assets and no actual business model that covers 10-15-20+ years are not going to be taken seriously.

Here’s another hot tip - contrary to what’s been written the comp might stop at 19 or go to 21 teams. Even number of clubs is not set in stone either. In the age where a faster game is leading to more soft muscle injuries and HIA’s - the powerbrokers, governing body and most clubs are not opposed to keeping the bye as a reason for squad and player rest. Of course this can be achieved with an even number of clubs too (2 clubs have a bye each week as opposed to 1).

Pretty sure they are working towards a 20 team comp, it's been mentioned at nauseum by PVL, also if there is a licence fee, norths/perth won't have the funds to buy it, as Western Australia govt might not want to pay for it... maybe they will???

20 team comp - jeez there will be some massive blowouts at 20 sides. Sure there is plenty of filler talent but not enough solid talent to fillout 20 x 30 man squads and have the competition close.

Not right now. But there wouldn’t be 20 teams next year either. Need to forecast future numbers by juniors numbers now. More resources towards the game now then there has ever been. Will only grow

Sorry, but are you new to the expansion threads?
Just asking coz its been well known in most articles or interviews with the arlc pushing towards that number by 2030, so not exactly straight away, but with the decade, there's a fair few threads here to sift through but most of them will show enough articles that pvl and politis have been working towards that goal

Nah... I don't so, it's always been the unnamed businessmen hiding in the shadow BS, but I really hope they are ready, coz the png bid just got their funds cleared
Love you Mugab and all Panthers - but you just need to take my word on this. It’s also not a single person- it’s an accumulative self grown business model and sound business development where funds have come from.

I think its been stated pretty clearly.
20 teams.
2 members of the ARLC are looking over the logistics/viability of a PNG team.
V'landys has steered the bears towards Perth as it's the only option they have.

The likelihood is there's your 18 and 19, order tbd.

Then its out of Brisbane3 and NZ2.
