Russia invaded Ukraine which is ally of usa
Russia is stronger than China and has no intent of attacking a NATO member. The reason it attacked Ukraine is because it doesn't want NATO encroaching upon its border. Ukraine is keen on joining NATO.

China's military is going to weaken considerably as their ageing and declining population leads to a decline in military age men who can prop it up and keep the workforce strong enough to support its growing elderly population. The one child policy they held until a few years ago gives them about 10 years to invade Taiwan before things turn to shit. It's probably the reason Albo's commitment is for just a decade and no longer.

There's so many roadblocks in front of a PNG team it ain't funny.

Do they throw open the gates for free if they cannot find 10-15k active fans who have enough money to buy a game day ticket?

The Hunters aren't drawing huge attendances, despite being the highest profile club in the country.

What will you do if Perth turns out to be a bigger basket case than the Sydney clubs you've ridiculed for years?

Fans from those clubs will heap shit on Perth every time it fails to live up to the high standards you've set for everyone bar Melbourne and Perth.
Don’t worry, Perth Red already has a back up, Perth only failed because they decided to align themselves to a failed product like the Bears and not go it alone as the Pirates blah, blah, blah.
Buttwrinkles will be even worse.
I can hear it now.

Attendance doesn't matter - team is paid for. A Perth team will be sweating that stuff. Rather a team where people care for the sport..

PNG will prevent one of the other bids from getting a licence.

No one will want to play for a team that's based in Port Moresby. The club will provide zero value to the broadcast rights. At some stage the federal funding will be cut and the club will have to be subsidied by the ARLC or punted. If the club flops around like a fish out of water for a decade before it is cut then that's a decade it will set back expansion in a location that can support a team. The public relations fallout would be disastrous. It's the worst possible outcome for rugby league.

God help us if an NRL game in Port Moresby is decided by a controversial refereeing decision that doesn't go PNG's way. There's a chance of spectators and players getting seriously injured or killed under this scenario. Back in 1994 a group of angry thugs gathered at the Port Moresby airport to ambush Cowboys officials who were on their way to promote the club in PNG. The locals were pissed off because the Australian media reported that PNG's best player was struggling in the Townsville Rugby League competition and wasn't up to standard to play for the Cowboys in the ARL the following year.
They won't prevent anything.

18 PNG
19 Perth & Bears
20. NZ2
21. Ipswich Tiger-Jets
22. Adelaide

Easy

You are 100% correct, the more I watch rugby league, especially the women’s, attendance means nothing, it is all about screen time.
Viewers, viewers, viewers.
Look at the crowds the NRLW attracted last season, absolutely woeful, yet they expanded.

Parramatta is most popular team in Sydney & hasn't won since 1986..
Parramatta is a Sydney suburb playing in a so-called National Competition, PNG is a whole Country playing in a sub-par State Competition, a supposed league mad Country where rugby league is there No #1 sport, their religion.

His reputation is on the line with this move. If there's crowd violence at a game in Port Moresby and it leads to some one getting maimed or killed then it will be a public relations disaster. If the club generates low attendances in Port Moresby and doesn't generate significant participation growth of the game across the country then it will be the biggest flop since Adelaide and Perth went tits up.

Perth Rat has set himself up for a lot of shit to be flown his way.

Using his logic, PRS needs to be rebuilt to accommodate 40k people and draw an average of 35k to their games. The club will need to generate $25-30m ftom sponsorship, corporate hospitality, ticketing, merchandise, membership and signage. A high performance training centre worth about $50m to match the big clubs will need to be created, too.

I'm sure he'll blame its failure to live up to the high standards he's set for everyone else on the ARLC not spending enough money on the NRLWA and not allowing the club to use the right shade of red, white and gold in the its colour scheme.

Port Moresby cannot support a Queensland Cup club without assistance from the NRL.
