18th club, whose next?

The only realistic contenders for the 18th licence are the West Coast Pirates and Brisbane Firehawks. Ipswich Jets and North Sydney Bears are no chance. Jets don't have the money or widespread appeal across metropolitan Brisbane. Bears are not a wealthy club and have priced themselves out of the market.

Tbf I think you’d struggle to recognise a toothbrush
If someone went back and god forbid read every one of your 55k posts how many would be positive about rugby league in Australia ?

Being constantly negative for 20 years is weird

constructive critisism is fine

but constant negativity is just trolling or someone that’s not a fan of the game in Australia

if you don’t like how the game is in Australia don’t follow it if it gives you such unhappiness

Does the ARLC have any aspiration to add a Perth team and fund junior development in Victoria and Western Australia?

With the right investment and enough time the ARLC could run an annual Origin series between Victoria vs Western Australia. It would be small for the first 20 or 30 years, but it will give kids from both states a reason to choose our game over rugby union and Aussie rules. If it's really successful then in 20 or 30 years we could add a second team to Melbourne and Perth after the Pirates have found their feet.

Jets have region NRL want plus nick Livermore. NRL tried hard to push tigers & jets together. If they put differences aside they get 18th spot

NRL didn't try to merge Tigers and Jets.

Livermore doesn't have the resources to get the Jets over the line.

Dolphins were always getting the licence as they had the most resources and better infrastructure.

Nope, I’m pretty balanced but people have just jumped on the bandwagon whinging pom, afl fan bs and now read my posts as negative. I want the best for the game and won’t wear rose tinted glasses and pretend everything is sweet.
You dont get better without Having ambition and just settling for what is.
If people spent more time making strong arguments against my posts they don’t agree with instead of reverting to childish schoolyard responses the forum would be a much more interesting read.

now here’s challenge for you, argue my points from a place of fact or even opinion and see if you can go a month with resorting to childish comments about me personally.

Your dismissive about the Australian game

you ignore all the positive points to pick up and emphasise the negative

if you were positive about the Australian game sometimes in between the negativity you would get a lot better responses out of people

you know your posting style is deliberately provocative

the way you talk about nrl needing to expand it did before super league

the game is only now in a position to put that behind us finally

vlandys did get played by the tv networks. Despite that he’s still going to add two extra teams.

the time to be concerned about afl was ten years ago when they were adding Gold Coast and western sydney not now

people stuck with rugby league after the super league war decimated it don’t need you sticking the knife in now about afl.

Jesus are you deluded. If you actually believe the above to be true you are beyond any help.

The more I think about it the more I just don’t see how financially viable NZ2 will be and how wellington and Christchurch could support an NRL team.

perth and south east Queensland have the money and population and in the case of SEQ they have the juniors.

my heart says NZ2 but my head says Perth over SEQ.

Nrl tv grant 18 million vs nrl salary cap of 13 million

converted to kiwi dollars it’s even more

the warriors struggle to spend the full cap with the current conversion

I think the ARLC should schedule more events in New Zealand to raise the game's profile. Australia should play three Tests in New Zealand every year.

You know the cost of living is lower in nz and their currency is worth less than ours
Hah what’s that got to do with what players want to get paid? Are you honestly claiming that warriors can’t spend full cap because the players are happy to get less money than is available to them? Really?

do you even know that all clubs have to spend 95% of the cap every season?
