He added: “We won’t be like other NRL clubs in Australia, who have their own regions. We are a country with a population of more than ten million people. Companies are queuing up to support the bid and team.”

“At a minimum, we could get a million members. We will break every criteria the NRL uses, it’s crazy.”

png on their own going to double nrl membership levels
Snakeoil salesman must love you. They just have to slap a NSWRL cap on their head and say they love Arthurson and Quayle. After that you'll believe anything they say and buy anything they offer.

And yet Newcastle can support both soccer and rugby league lol
Newcastle Knights have been bailed out by the NSWRL and ARLC on numerous occasions.

The Newcastle Jets are at risk of folding.

The future of the Newcastle Jets and Canberra United beyond this season lies in the hands of their current owners, with A-League chairman Stephen Conroy saying the competition is no longer in a position to prop up struggling clubs.

Since early 2021, the ailing Jets have been funded by a consortium of four fellow A-League club owners -- Western Sydney Wanderers, Sydney FC, Western United, and one unidentified club that ESPN understands is Wellington Phoenix -- after the licence was stripped from former owner Martin Lee.

Hey just do a google search for png steel companies lol and timber concrete etc
So why the need for $600m from the Aus Gov?

Knights were bailed out by the NSWRL in 1988. They didn't need to cover the travel and accommodation costs of visiting teams.

If the ARL didn't burden the Cowboys with the travel and accommodation costs of visiting teams then the club wouldn't have been in such a perilous position. If the ARL bailed out the Cowboys when they asked for support then the club wouldn't have jumped ship to Super League. Face it buddy, Arthurson and Quayle were corrupt and biased. They're the reason Super League happened.

Are the Knights richer than the Cowboys?

Cowboys generate more revenue from football operations.

1908 is the birthdate of the nswrl

Queensland club comp not start till 1909

So when people say 1908 as birthdate of rugby league in oz they are talking about the nswrl
Origin generates more revenue than any NSWRL club. Without Origin and the introduction of the Broncos and Storm the game would be not much bigger than the A-League.

I said few people watch them in Melbourne. Nationally, they're watched by a lot of people in Queensland and NSW.

Super League was more popular than ARL in 1997.

Average attendance for Super League was 12,347.

Average attendance for ARL was 9,915.

Packer saw the writing on the wall and purchased a weekly Super League game to air on Ch9.

Annual revenue from football operations is vital cash in hand.

Physical assets have value, but they're not cash in hand.

Go use the search function and see for yourself. I said the Storm draw poor ratings in Melbourne. It doesn't change the fact they're one of the most watched clubs on Foxtel. Yes, a lot of it has to do with them being successful and entering the NRL when SEQ was starved of content. Doesn't change the fact they're successful. I've argued that their popularity in Queensland and NSW will decline when their onfield success comes to a halt. When it does their value to the broadcasters will drop. Until that happens they'll bs one of the more valuable teams.

Mariners are the only national sports team on the Central Coast.

Fury were competing with the Townsville Crocodiles and North Queensland Cowboys for corporate support. It didn't help that the Fury were playing out of an open stadium in a tropical city during the wet season.
Mariners have tapped in the community, and have built a businees funding model like English soccer, with their key asset being Soccer 5s

They are steadily building into a powerhouse and I would not be surprised if they start funding a privately owned new Stadium in Tuggerah soon
