Lots of support from gould and the nrl 360 panel for the brisbane jets as the next team in

they discuss the various bids interesting a foxsports article discussed Perth last even after the bears in their list
Politis raised the 20 team option with the view of NRL finally becoming an Australian national competition.

"We've got to grow, if we're going to be a national sport we've got to be in every state.'

Unless you're a successful businessman and club chairman I'm going to take Nick Politis' opinion over yours.
Yep tough choice there
Eh? I said giving clubs more money to cover up their deficiencies as operating businesses at the expense of grass root funding, expansion and investment in revenue growing assets is a bad thing.
Sharks can only generate $11mill in revenue, how is topping them up to be profitable whilst we slash tens of millions out of grass roots and abandon our investment strategies a good thing?
Sharks have one of the highest junior bases in Sydney

This week wasn’t good for Perths chances

Perth best chances was for no other rival bids to emerge

it would t surprise me if an nz bid soon emerges too

and don’t rule our brisbane either

Perth will struggle against good bids from those places

Well the clubs haven't done anything special to start making profits, they just got given bigger handouts to cover loses

either way its a good thing though, and removes even more doubt around a Perth teams viablitly
Um, the NRL received money that was generated by clubs. People spend money on clubs, the NRL distributes that money back to them.

Nothings changed. Weve had a club chairman suggest 20 teams by 2033 is a good idea and NRL say they are considering PNG for 2025. Other than that its same as we were.

In all likelihood Perth will have to wait 7 years or so now (assuming vlandys stays in power that long) and they don’t shut up shop after 18

Quite possible, its rugba league. I fully expect them to look the gift horse McGowan is offering in the mouth.

eh? You dont seem to understand the difference between participation and elite development.
Giving Cronulla so much money means they produce more players from their large nursery

nrl clubs are where the best work of the game is done

but since you don’t have an nrl club you won’t get this

Didn't Sharks have to sign 3/4 of a spine from other clubs to finally win a comp?
Someone on here said they have 6000 players in the region, WA has 4100. Is it really that impressive after 50 years of an NRL club being there?

so you agree with Politis? Great Perth and Adelaide it is.
I've always supported Perth but not just because some pelican spends his life crying about it.

Adelaide is a bridge too far atm, not enough players of quality and that includes V'landys fantasies about the US.

Very impressive. Some great players have come out of the Shire. Quality over quantity.
