Where did I say it was played in schools right now?

To that same notion, None of the new areas the game should go is in schools.

So do we wait for all areas to have a decent school system?
WA has had a high school scholarship program running for many years

the level of ignorance on here is astounding!

Only expand into NSW/QLD

Or partner up with help for tha

Hence why partnering up with another club that can assist with that short term is being mentioned. As long as the licence was awarded to the area then it can become a fulltime team when it is setup

As for the anti Dolphins posts. Reading back it seems you were attacking relevant articles not so much the Dolphins.

You're a lying sack of shit, and the resident forum idiot.

Your ignorance of PNG only makes you look like a bigger dickhead.

You said Dolphins were too
And Vegas.

Any bid coming in has huge gaps in things like development, Commerical viability and so on.

IF the bid is going to be Australian based. Linking up with a club that can help is bonus.

Money and pathways aren't issues for Brisbane Easts or the Bears but location is.

Take Brisbane Easts, Their $25m bid + Australian and PNG government money is a huge start to get a schools program going in PNG.

How much does the Warriors success help a second NZ team? They've had sellouts already but if thier form continues, Mount smart will be heaving! If they make the finals and it's a home final, they'll probably have to move it to Eden Park!
Surely that starts to weigh team 18 in NZ favour right?

Ignorance of PNG how?

I have said they can't sustain a team yet. Justin Olam who knows more than both of us said similar

Both federal governments want it, so becomes how to make it viable

You would want to see longer sustained success then that right?

The 18th team is hugely important and PVL and Abdo can really cement their legacy if they get it right. I would be happy with either Perth or NZ2 and the NRL is lucky to have these two very attractive markets as options.

PNG or another SEQLD team so quickly will sour their legacy imo. PNG will be seen as a short-sited and unsustainable decision made just to appease the government. Another SEQLD team will be seen a move done out of fear of AFL. Is that what V'landys wants his legacy to be, The Rugba League boss scared of AFL?

Yep it’s got to that stage. Almost unreadable

For me. Sick of every thread being filled with constant negativity.

NRL TV deal is bad
Expansion to new areas - bad if it is linked with an existing club
Vegas bad
now Magic round is ripping off the game.
Hell read the welcome to the comp Redcliffe thread all 90% negative.

But on to the topic

We all agree that NSW/QLD shouldn't be team 18

So lets look at the areas.

PNG - would provide raw players but lack resources to provide a decent pathway right now.

Justin Olam at the World Cup (While playing for PNG) that the country wasn't ready. That there isn't even a schoolboys comp.

PNG govt k30million and Australian Govt $25m can fix that but it is a medium term project. That money may only be there as team 18. So linking with an Australian based team for the 10-15 years it takes to get PNG up to standard makes sense.

Perth - 4400 juniors for comparison Sharks the smallest NRL club has 7000.

Like PNG players will be unlikely to move across the country. Most of their sides in the national comp have a strong domestic comp to use. RL has no such thing so East coast trips are needed. Or linking with an existing side.

NZ2. Similar issues as far as player development.

RL in that past has put such things in the too hard basket, The fact they are atleast discussing partnerships is a positive that some meaningful expansion can happen.

Yet the LU way is just to find negative only in such things

On the flip side if team 18 struggles that taints their legacy regardless of where it is based

You just want to see a lot of support, that's the success you want to see. If the Warriors heaving with success, that indicates an appetite for another team imo
How does warriors doing well in Auckland reflect how well a club might do in a totally different city?

Napier, Christchurch, Wellington had good crowds for the New Zealand Warriors. If support lifts in Auckland, that translates to a growing support across nz and an obvious growth in support for League across the nation.
