It's why we take such delight in kicking your arse so often.
I put him on ignore after he went on a wild anti storm rant. He is possibly the most limited poster here when it comes to thinking outside of the Sydney clubs.

No dipshit, Sydney's big, Melbourne's big. About 5 million a piece.
Australia has 2 big cities.
Not that big by international standards but by Australian standards they are our 2 big cities.
Brisbane at 2.2 million is small by any measure but has a massive rl following.
I can walk all the city of Perth in about 15 minutes lol
Something tells me this is the first thing that you've overestimated it's size 🧐
Haha so subjective, by world standards sydney melbourne are not big. By Australian standards where 95% of cities are under 500k then perth and Adelaide are big. There’s only 5 big cities in australia by Australian standards. Here endeth todays lesson on context.

Without WA there is no National in NRL, I personally hope that the Bears are involved but if they aren’t they aren’t and it’s the Bears loss.
League needs to get out of its little East Coast bubble, sure it’s not going to be easy but you’ve got to start somewhere.

That is why I see the Bears ( now Brisbane East) as ideal partners with where ever the side goes.

They need the Pathways and other benefits that comes with a known names.

You see Titans v Bears on the screen, That will get more viewers than Titans v Pirates.

As the older fan base who knows the Bears die out, The PNG/NZ/WA or whatever kids follow the side and it can grow in the new market.

You would hope they would pick the city first then call for bids. They should have a clear plan on when and where to expand.

I am not sure the city itself matters. Especially if the plan is still 20 teams by 2032, You will have pretty much every area covered. 9th game is value and will get interest early on regardless

The primary market has to be where the team is based if you want the club to be viable. I dont think for one minute more people will tune in to watch perth bears more than they would west coast pirates Once Sydneys novelty interest wanes.

Theyll tune in if the stadium is full and a great atmosphere, the team are performing well, it’s going to be a competitive game and theres some star players people want to see perform. Why do you think Storm rate so highly? Not because they are called the Storm or come from Melbourne lol

Of course everyone uses the Storm and ignores GC fade out.

Storm have several reasons for ratings

Early on the fact they had links to 4 different states helped.
Into them being good.

You don't think their link to QLD has helped with the popularity?

They benefited greatly from the Crushers dying, That allowed them to partner with Brisbane Norths and evolve. Like Canberra did in the 90's bringing Brisbane players down

something similar helps team 18. Atleast until there is a solid local base

Your probably right there but surely there is more in it than just tv money. It's a big part no doubt.

I have said before my concerns over the ability to recruit players and player development is my biggest concern. That is for all of them.

WA has Govt getting involved.
PNG has Both federal Govt involved.

Brisbane Easts - Is hard because they can't use the Tigers name have $25m ready to put up.

Bears aparently have sponsors, I said earlier them being the Bears. Will flog off extra memberships to a few dinosaurs.

Either combination looks to be a great mix and looks strong, You get team 18 strong in a new market. Then can get to 20 teams quicker and TV sorts itself out from there.

So for me, Get the business cases in and if there are 3 great ones. Rank them and there is team 18, 19 and 20.

It is a plan without being locked in to a particular order

That’s why you will never really understand the nrl

more people from Sydney and qld too will watch cause it’s the bears

They will also generate at least 1k to 10k more away fans for Sydney clubs than a Perth team would

Or it could be one and the same?

The point of a Perth side is to generate fans in Perth, not Sydney...

The constant rumours in the Daily Tele about the Bears moving back to Sydney would be enough to lose a handful of fans in Perth for every fan the "Perth Bears" would generate in Sydney.

Extra viewers and away fans in Sydney is an added bonus

the last paragraph is just make believe nonsense
