I was joking

nrl is a dud competition with two good teams

the rest should be handing back the money the arlc for being useless
I disagree, depending on form, cowboys and knights have proven there more teams that can catch fire and go on runs and be competitive, and these teams can beat anyone on that day, cowboys ended up cooked, knights are still on that run, the consistency of the bronx and pamphas are great, but it doesn't mean shit if they fail on GF day, they just have a better chance at not failing

You could have said the same thing about other clubs at different points in time, I believe there is such a thing as winner`s fatigue, or the inability to keep up that high standard/intensity year after year. I would put the Roosters in that category now and the Storm to a lesser extent, although the Storm just do have too many average players now which has contributed to this, but you couldn`t say that about the Roosters.
All in all, the Panthers` time will pass, I even heard Nathan Cleary saying that the fans are far more picky and critical than they were three years ago, that`s also the sort of thing that can lead to a bit of disillusionment and drop off on the field for starters.

Winners fatigue I agree with

but Cleary and laui probably don’t play origin

look at all the players they’ve lost and the juggernaut just keeps rolling on

difference here is the other nrl dominant sides or storm and roosters either cheated to keep their team together (Penrith don’t) or buy their way to comps (cronk to the chooks)

penroth have a production line to fill in the gaps who have played together in the juniors

they don’t even have a good hooker yet the rest of their spine will be there for ages

remember when the dragons won 11 straight a lot of those gf wins they came from behind or didn’t finish first in the season

this is that with a salary cap too boot

penrith will flog the broncos imo with or without laui

I enjoy watching them pick sides apart but knowing whose going to win is boring

The only thing that will stop Penrith is the salary cap, funny how the salary cap actually penalises a team which mostly develops its own players.
Stephen Crichton will be a huge loss for Penrith in 2024.

Its the nature of the beast... the best result from our current setup, is the fact that we are actually keeping the ones we need to keep winning premierships, even without critta, we still roll on, with TMay replacing him and not miss a beat in 2024

Salary cap exemptions for clubs who develop players up two one or two million over the cap

they’ve lost Burton kikau and korisau who are way better they will be fine

Yes but 13v12 isnt about attacking, its about defending, not sure it matters if you are attacking with 13 players on at the same time (normal) or 12, or 5 really...
Defending with 12 is the point, its a hard slog for a whole 80mins, fmd tigers and dogs cant even do with 13 men, htf will that improve the comp,

...if anything there should be those "alsorans" teams being allowed 14 players on field, just to even up game hawhawhaw
I don't know what point you are trying to make... my idea is about getting rid of the wrestle and opening up more space on the field.

Perth red is right, maybe make a thread regarding getting rid of the locks on RL and see what outcome there is this thread is probably best for talking about the possible team 18, not new rule changes

Not impacting crowds and again I'm loving the NRL this year compered to Union and Super League...you are gifted with a great comp.
The quality of the product on the pitch is the worst it's ever been.

In the offseason between 2019 and 2020 the NRL went from the most competitive and unpredictable competition on the planet, where any team could beat any other on their day, to one of the, if not the, most predictable competitions with a salary cap on the planet, and the little tweaks they've made around the edges over the last few years haven't really changed that.
This post is confirmation that your understanding of Rugby League is akin to your grasp of the grammatical difference between "who" and "whom".
The post was just a bunch off observations about the rules and refereeing collected together, and didn't really touch on my understanding of the game itself at all, but if it was such nonsense you'd have been able to refute it easily instead of resorting to attacking me personally...

The truth is that I've watched RL for decades, I played for decades, volunteered in the grassroots for years, reffed, coached, etc, etc, and the fact that it's a social taboo to say it in these circles doesn't change that every major rule change that's been made over the last 4 seasons has objectively made the game worse, and the average standard of refereeing has been steadily getting worse in recent times.
