Bennet has said that he’s not going back to Sydney because he moved “back home” for a reason. No chance he moves even further away to Cairns or Perth going on that logic.
You should tell that to Wayne because when asked he said he was open to these ideas

he said he wants to coach on when his stint at the dolphins is over and vlanyds has literally said the next expansion side should get bennett as coach

Lachie Lam came through the Roosters junior rep system coached at times by his father, played NSW Cup for the Bears when there were no NRL opportunities for him he went over to the English Super League.
I’m finding many players are now going across to the English Super League competition early in their careers if their are no NRL options and then coming back a few years later, Jack Cogger did this with Penrith and now he has a contract with Newcastle whom he played Harold Matt’s, S.G.Ball and Jersey Flegg with.
Leigh were a yo yo club until lam snr took over

He’s done his super league apprenticeship he will come in as Wayne’s assistant for 3 years to take over once he goes

many players from the kumuls side said they want to play for png

It isn’t old either, people refer to Nicho Hynes as if he is a rookie, the guy is 27 years, Jack Cogger is 26 years.
As halves get older they get better, like props, Nathan Cleary is only 25 yrs himself, he is still a baby.
Didn't say he was.

Frankly it's a bit of bullshit in regards to PNG anyway.

Your pushing shit up hill if you think a Nicho Hynes comes along more then once in a Decade.

Jack Cogger ain't achieved shit either.

you still think a 75 year old bennet will be coaching PNG, ahahaha....
“The 73-year-old says he is totally dedicated to the Dolphins in 2024, but Bennett will pass the head-coaching baton to his assistant Kristian Woolf for 2025 and confirmed his interest in helping an 18th NRL franchise. “At the end of 2024, I'm a free agent, so I'm open to all offers,” Bennett told The Sunday Mail.”

lmao

this forum will never change when posters just post bs

If I’m quoting Wayne then Wayne already told that to Wayne.

M8 I’ve known Nicho since he was playing U6’s with Umina, Nicho went the long way around to make NRL, Nicho got sacked from the Central Coast U13’s reps for missing training when he was playing touch footy for NSW, Manly picked him up straight away along with the five other Coast players who were also sacked for missing training for representing in other Sports. Nicho played Matt’s, Ball and Holden Cup now know as Jesery Flegg (Jesse Ramien Sharks was also in these Manly teams as was Tommy Turbo). After not being selected in Manlys losing Holden Cup/Jersey Flegg GF team in 2015 to Penrith (Dylan Edwards, Jerome Luai, Brent Naden, James Fisher-Harris, Moses Leota, Corey Harawira, Tyrone May) Nicho was released by Manly and he then headed to QLD where the Storm signed him up, Jack Cogger played for Toukley in the age group under Nicho.
Jack was a sensation in juniors but had plenty of injuries along the way, Jacks Toukley team played Grand Finals nearly every year against Scotty Drinkwaters Terrigal team, winning more often than not.
Nicho only played in one junior Grand Final in U14’s when he and five Umina team-mates moved to play for Terrigal where he linked up with the Saifiti Brothers Daniel and Jacob, my sons team had won the 13/1’s GF the year before and had gone through the 14/1’s undefeated until the Saifitis’ had a blinder in the GF, my sons team won again in the 15/1’s GF but lost the 16/1’s GF, both times against Wyong who had Jesse Ramien (Sharks) and Jacob Liddle (Dragons) playing for them.
Jack Cogger in junior reps was automatically selected ahead of Nathan Cleary, but injuries curtailed Jacks career and Wayne Bennett didn’t help when he was Coach at Newcastle, Scotty Drinkwater couldn’t get a look in against Jack either as they thought Scottys defence was to weak despite his obvious flair in attack.

Well he did say a Nicho Hynes only comes around once in a decade and that Jack Cogger ain’t achieved shit.
Honestly a lot of guys on here have f**k all idea, pathways do nothing, in all honesty, players who have got it have always had it from baby football, they don’t suddenly wake up superstars from being in some pathways development program (which in most cases just wears a lot of the good players out) it’s really is luck, who you know and staying injury free if you want to know the truth.
I’ve seen more kids make NRL level from going to elite rugby schools than actually going through NRL pathway systems.

If Wayne Bennett is the be all and end all of coaching and these development officers are so good, when Bennett was coach at Newcastle he gathered his coaching staff and said to them I want all the good halves you can find around the Newcastle, upper/lower Hunter and Central Coast regions.
Talented up and comers Jack Cogger and Brendan O’Hagan were snapped up straight away, yet Bennetts coaching staff missed both Nicho Hynes and Scotty Drinkwater, like seriously ?.

It just occurred to me that the magic may fade in PNG when NRL comes every second week instead of once a year.

And plenty of FG, hyped as the next big thing, that didn't last long.
