Seems you guys are reading t oo much media bullshit... yes we would love to see the dolphins competitive day dot, even a longer lead in time wouldnt change whats happening now, clubs are out bidding each other and paying overs for mediocre players, media suggesting dolphins missing out on everyone... its really player managers floating the idea of the dolphins scalping the other 16 clubs, who then resign either more money or longer contracts to their existing players.. RCG, paulo, ponga, etc...munster will be next, its a ploy!
now im hearing moses is "on the hit list" seriously overrated wanker is lucky eels need a halfback...
Dolphins will be fine, look at the comp now, theres about 10 clubs who are just not up to the standards of the top 6... dolphins wont run last, but thet certainly wont be higher than 7th, not 1st year anyways
Anything inside the top 11 or 12 would be a win for the club in its first year.

I would disagree slightly on the last bit. The competition has been miles better than last year.

I’d say that there is clearly a top two - your team and the Storm and then the rest where anybody could potentially beat anybody else.

You only have to look at some of the results which definitely wouldn’t have happened last year (Broncos beating the Sharks and Souths; Tigers beating Souths and Parra; Knights beating the Roosters; Bulldogs beating the Roosters, Dragons beating the Roosters, Cowboys being top 4 atm)

It has made the games a lot more interesting.

Won't & shouldn't happen. Stick to titans brand. Local derby will actually help but ppl too short sited & clubs too lazy
I don't mind the Titans name, but maybe tweaking the colors could do them some good.

I know the yellow & 2-tone blue is supposed to be sea, sand & sun, but it just comes off as some weird hybrid of the Eels & Sharks.. perhaps they should have kept the teal & orange from the GC Dolphins bid when they dropped the Dolphins name?

Not necessarily this design, but something in these kinda colors.

Titans problems are not due to name and colours. Start winning games and better fan engagement in the region and the stadium will get 20k regardless of name.

It would be the third, not the second, as Melbourne and Sydney would be clearly bigger markets. Perth would be the fourth (and not much behind Brisbane) and don’t have a team at all. So wouldn’t that make more sense than putting a third team in Brisbane?

Except Perth & Melbourne don't watch nrl

I can't see it happening. Brisbane has been a 1 team city for the best part of 32 years, why would they suddenly introduce 2 new teams in quick succession? It would be such an odd move to make for the NRL but then there doesn't appear to be any logic behind much of what the NRL does.... If anything it implies that the comp has manufactured an advantage for the Broncos for 30 years and its now off the table for some reason. I mean fmd!

Brisbane twice as large as when they entered & south Brisbane is new battleground, not to mention fast growing.

Broadcast rights explosion favours teams in Sydney & Brisbane which draw large audience.

Doubt it.
you may well do, but you still dont know for sure lol. The times RL isn't on Fox/Kayo ie SOO and GF, Ch9 gets 100k viewers in Perth and up to 400k in Melbourne.

Until about ten years ago NRL in Perth was on at midnight on replay and often got booted for tennis or golf or some other sht. I havent watched a regular season nrl game on ch9 since 2000.

What melbourne and NQ show is your appeal doesnt have to be restricted to just your own patch. They are two of the most watched teams in the NRL on Tv despite having small home city audiences.

Perth's population is set to grow to 2.9mill by 2031 (20% bigger than Brisbane currently is) and 3.5mill by 2050 with a lot of that growth being East coast migrants. It'd be nuts to ignore such a growing city, and guess what no other sport has lol.

Exposure builds fanbase & NRL had highest level of exposure in northern states so logically would've generated more paying customers here

Melbourne & Cowboy have strong following in Brisbane so go figure. Means Brisbane sides can expect high ratings too

no one doubts that, but as has been put forward before that population is already watching NRL, its not got any growth as they are currently tuning in. The game needs to grow into new markets and we only have 3 really: Perth, Adelaide and other parts of NZ to grow into. Problem is Warriors rate badly in Aus so no expectation a second NZ club would fare better and Adelaide is no where near ready for an NRL team. So guess that really leaves only one realistic choice :)

They also have strong audiences across the country. Titans have shown just plonking more teams in SEQ isnt necessarily the answer to generating growth.

the most recent comments by the Chair suggests Brisbane3 isnt even on the radar for club 18:

“We have to expand, we have to always look towards the future, you can’t just stand still, you need to be proactive and you need to continue the popularity of the game, and if we can make the game national we’ll do so.
“There’s a possibility of Perth or even New Zealand, there’s a lot of possibilities.

Rugby died (well that's the line) because product is hidden on pay TV. Likewise cricket took a hit for same reason in england. Doesn't make sense that there's this huge support in Melbourne & Perth when game get little exposure

PNG, would be amazing and brave, but ultimately cant see it in a poor country where they haven't even got running water to some places yet.

Papua New Guinea has launched a bid to join the NRL as the competition’s 18th team in the next broadcast cycle, receiving the backing of the country’s prime minister. As the NRL awaits the introduction of the Dolphins as the 17th team next year, Papua New Guinea has put its hand up for the license of the 18th club.Rugby league powerbrokers want to make the NRL an 18-team competition at some point in the future, but it’s hard to envisage that happening before the upcoming broadcast agreement ends after the 2027 season. The NRL had previously discussed a second team in New Zealand along with the Warriors, however PNG believed they would be ready to go with a team from 2025. Other options include a team in Perth or on the NSW’s Central Coast.
The PNG bid, backed by prime minister James Marape, was also open to becoming the team of the Pacific, linking with countries like Fiji, Tonga and Samoa to join forces.“The investment and work we’ve done over the last 12 years with our infrastructure, governance and financial capacity and competitiveness of the sport in the country has put us in a good position,” PNG Rugby League chairman Sandis Tsaka said.“Investment in the domestic game in terms of football structures from our juniors to elite pathways program has led to the success we’re having with the Hunters [who currently play in the Queensland Cup].“
Our men’s and women’s international teams are becoming competitive. Investment we’ve done across the game in terms of infrastructure has us in good stead to put in a good bid.“We know there are other teams within Australia and New Zealand that have put their hand up.
It will be a competitive process. For us it’s about getting our work done, so we can put in a bid that can compete and be selected to be the 18th team in the NRL. We are confident we can do that.”

Melbourne has been spine of qld state of origin team for decades. Cowboys was the sole alternative to Broncos in all of queenland.
Gold Coast isn't Brisbane.

Who said it was huge? It doesnt need to be a skey secondary markets. 50-100k per game is pretty significant amount over 26 rounds.
