Well if you actually bothered to read, you'd know I don't. It's your mates donkey and wb1234 that care what they want and want to give them everything they ask for.
They are not my mates... if they are hitting like buttons thats not my issue, there was a time ago, where, these same guys heckled me for my outlook on expansion, ive said many many times before, I'm pro expansionist, i dont care who gets in, i want it all... im open to all expansions, its why i frequent here, you guys are all bickering with each other over viability and branding and who goes first, none of that matters if we have a larger player pool, arlc are only going to proceed with PNG if the govt underwrites it... they also wont pick Perth, Vic2 , Adelaide, or even NZ2 as probable or possible areas to expand if the PNG pathway isn't built, and we'll end up with central coast only (and maybe Ipswich/easts, if they have the balls to bother if they don't ) if they lose their taste for expansion

They paid $1bn a year for 1 game a week to drive sign-ups in the US.

They are actively chasing rights to sports around the world to do the same.

I'm not sure why this suddenly turned into whether they would buy the whole round by the way. I was pointing out how this was wrong

Amazon Prime has yet to show a want in taking on local sports.

They clearly are interested in local sports if they think it will help drive up subscriptions. If they see that benefit in the NRL, they will bid whether it's for 1 game or up to 8.

They are working on a target of 12 m people that Thursday night NFL drew. They are getting 2m people at best should they want the same with NRL

Because NRL doesn't produce their own content. Them or anyone buying the odd game here and there makes zero sense

You'd literally have Amazon Prime having to hire Australian based staff. Camera men, Production staff. Office space to work out of for a couple of million people.

FTA. Stan/Fox. Even Paramount can put those guys on full time contracts and use them elsewhere to save money. Amazon doesn't have that luxury

So It makes no sense. Same reason why Optus didn't take on the A League when it would of gone well with the soccer content they had.

I said the major sports are reluctant to sign with Ch10/Paramount because it has no stake in the print media and struggles to compete with Ch7 and Ch9. Paramount doesn't have a large subscriber base.
AwFuL and Cricket Australia turned down strong bids from Ch10/Paramount.

Didn't NRL knock back an offer from Ch10 when Lachlan Murdoch, James Packer and Gina Rinehart invested in the network?

Paramounts biggest issue is the Regional ch10 is a mess.

WA for example. Ch7 actually owns it and runs ch10 content but they aren't under contract to do so.

Parts of NSW and QLD are the same. The 3 main codes want as much money as possible and access for the whole country.

FTA 9 and 7 do that. That hurts ch10 unless they bid really high but that makes no financial sense for them

Vlandys approached google and other streaming services they had zero interest in the nrl

they said you need a bigger global presence hence his push into Vegas and the mighty usa

Apparently ch9 and Fox are going to pay big dollars despite having no competition as nobody else is interested in buying the rights.

Again where did anyone say is no competition?

There will be 3 bidders as there was for cricket and AFL

Stan/9
Fox/9
Paramount/10

That happens when you have such a small population, I don't see NRL will change but they will pay more.

It is why despite being sued cricket went back to ch7

We might even see Ch7 team up with Foxtel. James Warburton has been in talks with V'landys.

It's good to see V'landys talking to other parties.
