Queensland ain't saturated. There's room for a third team in Brisbane. It's the only place in Australia that can support a team without assistance from the ARLC.
Yes there is but QLD got a team last season in the Dolphins who finished 13th, give the Dolphins a few seasons atleast.
Qlds next best option is obviously the Tigers but the NRL already have a Tigers team so Qld can wait until atleast team 19 or 20 for another team.

If we are going to look at failed

no nrl team for ong because there will apparently be no nrl shops there

Qld isn’t saturated
Twist that comment how you want but their people wouldn’t be able to afford to shop there and would probs loot the place anyways.
There is no money to be made from the people of PNG, the place certainly isn’t a tourist destination.

They didn’t, the games between PNG v Cook Islands and Fiji v Cook Islands were virtually empty, the two games against Fiji I’m not so sure but they certainly weren’t NRL prices.
You do know PNG is a Country in poverty don’t you ?.

To be fair, the game wasn't in a position to fund expansion in 1995 and was getting ripped off by Packer. The broadcast deal with Packer was worth just $10m per annum. Packer was given the rights without competition and paid less than what it was worth. Each club got a grant of just $200k. The salary cap was some where between $1.2-1.8m. Clubs like North Sydney and Western Suburbs might still be around if it wasn't for Packer's greed.

Expansion should have been delayed until the next broadcast deal began in 2000.

Got to admit the only super league games I watched were the tri series

canb vs brisb would’ve been the dream grand final

Because Fiji v Cook Islands was also played at Port Moresby, everybody says rugby league is PNG’s religion (both games PNG/Fiji vs the Cook Islands at Port Moresby had a near empty stadium) so it shouldn’t matter who is playing should it ?.

Okay PNG v Cook Islands, look at the crowd ?.
But rugby league is their National sport, it shouldn’t matter who is playing, maybe it does ?.
Maybe the PNG people wouldn’t climb trees to watch the Dragons play the Tigers after all lol.
