Lol@ tge non negotiables: 4 games at NSO, the colours, the logo and the name.

f**k off.
The funny thing is that they're actually going more mask off about it. Outside of Bears members functions they used to play coy and pretend they were happy with 1 game at NSO.

That's because like most Bears fans you've totally disconnected from yourself reality.

The club had opportunities to attempt to get back into the NRL 20 years ago but brushed them all out of arrogance, entitlement, and impatience. Now the place has become so vain and narcissistic that the people in charge and the vocal portion of the fanbase don't even realise that the club's totally irrelevant.

What was once a great club has been reduced to little more than a parasitic entity and people like you are responsible for that.
Honestly, you like everyone else on here have no idea what these businessmen are discussing behind closed doors.

There’s endless opportunities and possibilities but at the end of the day it’s what makes most sense for business. If that’s having the Bears brand as the PNG or Perth or Pasifika entity because if those prospective club locations do collapse at least the NRL can fall back on something and not outright lose a side per se like American Sports does with it’s brand relocations or if that’s not having the Bears brand affiliated at all with any side, leaving them in the abyss then so be it.

Expansion is a good water bubbler conversation starter for sure but some in here need to tame their views a little because that’s all it is, views/opinions. Your view for however right or wrong it may be, right now means squat because you’re forming it based on assumptions and hearsay.

Again, none of us know what’s going on inside these business discussion.

This is exactly why the Bears shouldn't be allowed anywhere near one of these proposed partnerships, because they've repeatedly made it abundantly clear that their intention would be to sabotage the business in the expansion market and slowly increase activity in Sydney and/or the CC over time.

They're not even secretive about that. Some of the more powerful members, right up to current board members, have been dumb enough to just come out and say that publicly in the past-https://www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...perate-to-get-back-into-the-game-an/102086372

Mate this article is bit late brava... why sneak this in the day after PVL and slothfield talked about png and a return of the bears... very sad one eyed pirate hey YARRRR!!!
It hasnt been posted before and had a reaction from Sackson and Bennett in it that hasnt been posted on here. Sounds like grand-dad Wayne quite fancies a Perth McMansion by the beach for his twilight years!

so no requirement to have any ownership share
Actually they have stated that previously, hence why Perth and PNG have given them short change

we want somewhere between two to four games at North Sydney Oval — one of those must be against Manly — and we want that the rights of the 18th licence will always sit with the North Sydney Rugby League Football Club.

Again where the f**k did you read that in that article, does not state they don't want ownership, the whole point of the bears return is for the ownership of that said licence, its why the png bid consortium told both east tigers and NS bears to look elsewhere

If you’re taking my own opinion as reasons then you just further prove my point and while we are at it, this isn’t an opinion I say as a Bears fan this is an opinion I say as a business owner.

It’s called a contingency plan and I’m sure NRL would have their contingency incase the 0.001% likelihood of it happening, happens.

This doesn’t confirm “bears want to sabotage location” or any of that nonsense, it’s just a thought out contingency for the NRL, not the expansion team themselves.

So knock it off and be better with your way of thinking.

Im all for the bears to return, but danes right, they will never be committed to the new market, as long as they pander to the old one, one game at nso is enough, 2 games if they are both trials, if thats the manly vs bears event, then great, its sits next to battle of the west, and charity shield matches that they hold now in the pre season games...
If they want back in they need a new market, not many small islands and gosford only, they need a perth or Melbourne2, even Adelaide maybe

Ownership of the licence is not a negotiable, its the very reason to bid if they win the bid they own that perpetual licence forever, and they can then choose to play wherever the fk they want, its upto the NRL to sort this out now before handing one over

What are you on about ?
This is a Perth bid negotiating with the bears

previously they have mentioned ownership specifically

a north Sydney bears owned nrl team playing games in Perth makes zero sense

Thats what they are aiming for, based in NS, play wherever... right now they want to be the Pasifika bears, based in NSO, playing Pasific islands and gosford

.... there is no Perth bid, not yet
