18th club, whose next?

There are a heap of Central Coast boys playing up in the QLD Cup e.g. Ryan Jones (Tweed Seagulls), Jacob McCudden (Tweed Seagulls), Cooper Page (Wynnum Manly), Kyle Schneider (Mackay Cutters), Jaron Purcell (Dolphins), Tom Steadman (Burleigh), Nick O’Meley (Burleigh), Brendan O’Hagan (Wynnum Nanly), Dylan Kelly (Burleigh),
I could list the Central Coast women in the NRLW: Isabelle Kelly, Kirra Dibb, Olivia Kernick, Jasmin Strange, Tarryn Aitken, Brodie Parker, Jayme Fressard, Jocelyn Kelleher, Mia Middleton, Shawden Burton and probably a few that I don’t know.
Bears should relocate to Gosford and enter a team in the Queensland Cup. We've already got two Seagulls. It won't hurt to have two Bears.

Look at the facts.

Gosford has sold out numerous NRL games at a stadium that's better than PRS.

Central Coast produces more players who are of better quality than the ones from Perth.

Gosford has pokies and is a rugby league stronghold.

What does Perth have to offer?

Not as much as Gosford.

NRL has dismissed bids from Perth and Gosford.

I don't know what they put in the drinking water in Perth, but it sure has you seeing things that don't exist. Rugby league in Perth is lightyears behind places like Brisbane, Gold Coast, Gosford and Sydney.
Come back to me when gosford gets 45k to an nrl game lol
sht even nswrl centric Vlandy acknowledges there’s too many teams in Sydney and bears have no hope of ever living again in nsw.

We don’t have a Stadium like Optus Stadium but Central Stadium squats HBF Park.
I was one of that 45,000 crowd and don’t forget it was a double header.

It doesn't matter if it was a double header. 45k individuals turned up for NRL that day. It wasn't like 22k came for the first game, they then emptied the stadium then brought the same 22k in and called it 44k crowd.
That was a great result for NRL.

There is a clear pattern happening here where you assume a lot.

Nothing was said about small business/es being the only support, nothing was said about average age of supporters or that younger supporters do it for a trend.

Nothing was said about potential for NRL club memberships, NSW Cup memberships right now is irrelevant to the conversation when the attraction is on NRL.

You’re still quoting me without actually reading things properly mate, which is fine but please keep the quantity of words down if that’s going to be the continued case moving forward.

Lastly, how do you think a historic brand like Dolphins got their support when 99% of their fans would’ve watched NRL already? Has anyone taken the time to actually dissect how their old Q-Cup brand got over?
The clear pattern of behaviour is you refusing to engage directly with any criticism or any informed opinion that contradicts yours.

Frankly you're embarrassingly clueless if you believe that even half of the Dolphins current fanbase had any affiliation with the club prior to their admittance to the NRL, or that most of their current support base wouldn't have supported a new Brisbane side no matter who they were or what their brand was.

Trying to compare the Bears to Brisbane is just silly. The demand for a second Brisbane side was enormous irrespective of the Dolphins themselves. If similar demand for the Bears, or what will effectively be another de facto Sydney team, existed it'd be easily evidenced like the demand in Brisbane was. In fact it'd probably be so obvious that it'd be self evident, just like the demand for a second Brisbane side had been for at least a generation or so before the Dolphins gained entry last year.

When James Maloney was with the Storm, he would train with the NRL squad all week, then if they played on Friday night and he wasn’t used they would fly Maloney, Ryan Tandy, Will Chambers, Josh Drinkwater and others up on Saturday morning (game day) to play for the Central Coast Storm.

That is why Storm using NSW/QLD works.

You need to allow a couple days both ways or have players go between Perth/Sydney in blocks.

It was still a double header though which meant fans of four different teams and having four different NRL teams/two NRL games playing would encourage more people to attend than just two NRL teams/one NRL match, but you are right the people of WA only get to see one NRL event a year so they came in droves with 45,814, I also attended the AFL WA local derby between the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers (absolute rubbish match) a week later which drew only 51,172.
Optus Stadium 60,000 Capacity.

Rugby League Daily’s Facebook page recent poll on expansion has been up for just under a week:

The Bears 46%, 3,421 votes

PNG 34%, 2,552 votes

Perth 9%, 742 votes

NZ (South Island) 6%, 514 votes

Other 2%, 204 votes

I voted for both the Bears and Perth.

Perth will require a significant investment just to survive. On top of this, the returns it provides will be negligible: junior numbers in Perth will never be strong and its commercial value will be as low as the Gold Coast Suns. It's just a waste of a licence.
