When the bid was first announced I assumed it had no chance of generating the revenue needed to compete in the NRL. Since then I've heard about support from Coca Cola and mining companies. Time will tell whether it can stand on its own legs.

Hill did an interview where he clearly downplayed the aus government contribution and talked about other sponsors and financers. It was a lengthy interview and he was very rational about it all. It didn’t sound to me as though they are rushing this and neither they should. I think they 600 million figure is a news corp fantasy tbh.
