Which is of course why the PNG fans keep pushing the $600m lie despite Andrew Hill saying it's bullshit.

If you were actually looking into these things "deeper with eyes open", you'd be looking at the major issues in PNG and understanding just how difficult it would be to operate a team there, and just how much money it's going to need. $600m over 10 years doesn't cut it, and even that is a bullshit number.

The only people not looking past the headlines are the people who saw the big number and assumed the team would therefore be successful. That's you and the other PNG fans.

No. I have never once said they would successful. As I said many times I doubt we even see a team.

What I have said is a team would great for the NRL but more so Internationally as it lifts the PNG standard up. If we can get them and Fiji up it brings more interest in and more sponsors.

Having 9 and fox on board means it’s a certainty they are coming back
“It’s a good idea and I’d back it,” said Foxtel chief executive Patrick Delany, who two years ago provided an extra $15 million a year in funding to back the Dolphins as the competition’s 17th team
Channel 9 is equally keen about reinventing the club that vanished as an NRL franchise and everyone’s second team when the Northern Eagles folded back in 2002.
“The Bears hold a special place in the hearts of rugby league fans and as the NRL develop their plans for expansion, it would be great if that heritage brand found a new home. We would support it,” said a Channel 9 spokesman”

Thanks mate. If they are coming back I’m comfortable with them being relocated as part of expansion as long as their terms are logical. At this stage I don’t think that is the case.
Perth or Christchurch are where they will land imo

the bears list of non negotiables is a wish list

once negotiations get under way people will compromise

the bears should get minority equity and board seats

Wishful dribbling on the part of the author.
Wouldn’t want anything to do with PNG to be honest, the Bears haven’t had any talks at all with that bid despite what Perth Red says, that whole set up will be absolute carnage.
