You've lost any argument using GWS as an example
They are one example

dolphins are another

or take many of the nz super rugby sides that represent different areas

don’t fhe swans include some club from Melbourne and the lions Fitzroy ?

They do give the impression that they’re just biding their time for whatever bid they hitch their wagon to to fail so they can move them back to North Sydney full time (ironically pretty much what Manly did to them).
They’d get enough games in Sydney from away games as it is to service nsw fans
That’s exactly why they announced their 4 non-negotiable terms and conditions.

I believe that their(the bears) ultimate long-term goal is to be a single entity team permanently based on the central coast with maybe 1 or 2 heritage games taken to the north Sydney oval.

That’s your opinion and you are entitled to look over your shoulder and not trust anybody if that is how you live your life.
If you don’t think that the NRL would have policies in place to stop a repeat of the Northern Eagle debacle you must think that they are a volunteer organisation.
And what if the joint venture fails on the ground by having poor crowds , poor results and losing large amounts of money every year?

what then?

Theyve both won premierships, i don't think your thinking this clearly, just coz they are a rabble now, don't mean theyve always have been...
Got plenty of teams that lack cohesion, its not all to do with the merger aspect of the club
Those premiership’s paper over the cracks.

both teams have had more failures than successes.

A lot of those are poor examples to be fair.

The closest comparison that you can make is probably GWS and that hasn’t worked well. Even then it is not a joint venture and doesn’t have all the complications to go with it.

I don’t think the Dolphins playing some games at Kayo is going to damage them significantly but it will limit them as playing games at a 10k stadium would

Super Rugby - well I would steer away from that comp.

Lions and Swans aren’t true comparisons either because they are full relocations and are not playing home games in Melbourne. That’s exactly what you need to do.

Yeah like every club.. tin foil hat time
Yeah but the difference would be that the good successful times mostly keeps a lid on both sets of fans bickering and sniping at each other which sole entity teams don’t have to contend with.

And What If I win Oz Lotto on Tuesday night ?, imagine if every decision made was based on What If ?, let’s see what actually happens first, if it goes bum up then the NRL and the WA Bears consortium can sit down and work out a survival battle plan.

Would one of the options for the bears consortium be to relocate to the central coast permanently?

Their four non negotiables are basically nothing:

1).Bears Logo.
2).Bears colours red and black (weren’t Perth Reds red and black).
3).NSO 2-4 games (I have heard two games minimum).
4).Keep the Bears Foundation Club History.

Seriously do you people even listen to what V’Landys said the other day ?.
No more Sydney teams, V’Landys will not add another NSW team during his tenure, especially on the Central Coast.
Clubs like Manly, the Roosters (who have adopted the area as their junior rep nursery) and the Knights simply wouldn’t allow it.

A few thoughts mate.
Yes. Bears logo.
Yes. Bears colours.
NSO. No. It’s a dump. Sorry. Let’s be serious. Maybe a trial. No more than that.
and as for the 200000 Bears fans. Turn up to all the Sydney games and give the club support it will need and deserve. Otherwise forget it. Love your passion mate by the way.

Yes I listened but no I don’t slavishly hang onto and believe every word he speaks.

if the Perth joint venture fails is one of the options for the bears half to relocate the team on the central coast mate?

. Yes or no answer please .

Different scales above of success and failure

playing two home games at nso isnt cause to lump them with the likes of gws

besrs juniors cash and access to sponsors won’t be handed over for nothing

bears ip is valuable and to hand it over they will want some home games

not a big deal imo

The Dodgers don’t still play games in Brooklyn.

Arsenal don’t take games from North London to Woolwich.

LA Rams and Chargers don’t still take games to St Louis and San Diego.

Oakland don’t get any games after Raiders moved to Vegas.

Swans and Lions don’t take games to Melbourne.

What makes North Sydney so much more special than other areas that lost teams, and Perth less important than the locations that got said teams?

Why is our sport so deranged and amateurish to keep proposing these depraved, insane ideas?

Makes sense in terms of getting backing from an existing base, access to juniors, natural fit for colours.
However it’ll be a VERY hard sell for parochial locals to accept a transplanted Aussie team- especially one that seems to want as much say in things as the Bears do. Perth I feel would be more accepting of the brand?

The club would need to be majority owned by the NZRL. I'd let the Bears have a 25% stake in the club. No home games in Sydney.

None of the options will invariably work until the Bears drop the NSO negotiable or at least reduce it to something like max 1 game. You can’t have a team representing one area whilst really focused on another.

All games have to be in Christchurch.
