If true then I hope they come back as the Christchurch Bears.
Makes sense in terms of getting backing from an existing base, access to juniors, natural fit for colours.
However it’ll be a VERY hard sell for parochial locals to accept a transplanted Aussie team- especially one that seems to want as much say in things as the Bears do. Perth I feel would be more accepting of the brand?

None of the options will invariably work until the Bears drop the NSO negotiable or at least reduce it to something like max 1 game. You can’t have a team representing one area whilst really focused on another.
I feel that could also be a potential problem for PNG being based and ran by people in Cairns .

Only if owned by a Perth consortium and all games played here.

Any link up with the bears will ultimately end up being like a slow moving landslide.

I don’t trust the bears one bit and wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot barge pole.
They do give the impression that they’re just biding their time for whatever bid they hitch their wagon to to fail so they can move them back to North Sydney full time (ironically pretty much what Manly did to them).
They’d get enough games in Sydney from away games as it is to service nsw fans

That’s your opinion and you are entitled to look over your shoulder and not trust anybody if that is how you live your life.
If you don’t think that the NRL would have policies in place to stop a repeat of the Northern Eagle debacle you must think that they are a volunteer organisation.

The west tigers and St George-Illawarra dragons experiments should and must put off all future potential dual 50/50 clubs for ever.

these clubs are destined to struggle and ultimately fail.

Theyve both won premierships, i don't think your thinking this clearly, just coz they are a rabble now, don't mean theyve always have been...
Got plenty of teams that lack cohesion, its not all to do with the merger aspect of the club
