But they’d rather not as it starts to eat into a school night and that impacts crowd numbers. Perth is ideal because it means it’s an afternoon game there which is great for crowds but fills a prime TV slot on the east coast, and even still ok for NZ viewers.
Also Perth fumbler clubs don’t play on Sunday ? So clear air for Perth crowds (nrl)

Of the eight home games the Eagles have locked in, at least two will kick off in this timeslot and another will finish after 4pm AWST. There's another four games that are yet to be scheduled.

ah yes, just like his dumb argument that if Raiders fans want a Perth team so much, they should advocate for the hypothetical event of the Raiders relocating there lol, he's not very smart...
What's dumb is you and the soap dodger thinking it's okay for Hull's 260k people to have two tiny clubs to support while arguing that Brisbane's 2.8m people should not have three, despitr the two it currently has being the largest and second largest teams in the world. The pair of you are hypocrites and full of shit.

It's also dumb to think Sunshine Coast should have a team ahead of Brisbane 3.

It's really dumb to think there's a conspiracy between the ARU, ARLC, Ch9 and Foxtel to not put an NRL team in Perth so the Force have "space".

They still potentially get FTA games when they play away though. The Warriors very rarely get home games on FTA either because they fill those weird early foxtel timeslots. It’s not really a negative.

Only the Sunday arvo game works though.

You'd have games at 5.30pm or 6pm local time,
like Warriors they'd be almost exclusive to fox.

Still having 3 games on a Sunday and having a game either side of FTA will have a benefit to them

The Lions debt is meaningless. No AFL teams are privately owned. The AFL will always fund the NSW and QLD teams. They have very deep pockets.

AwFuL has a variable funding scheme to prop up expansion clubs.

NRL does not.

You're lucky the Storm were introduced when News Ltd acquired a 50% stake in the game. Without News Ltd pouring in $75m between 1998 and 2012 the Storm would have been a basket case and probably would have folded long ago.

That’s my point. NZ and Perth provide useful pay TV timeslots. Doesn’t mean they’ll never get FTA exposure, they’re just going to get it mostly when they play away.

Which then if the split becomes 6/3 Pay TV-FTA. Then Pay TV should be the one that covers the 9th game

I never said money generated during successful periods doesn't count. I pointed out the Lions' debt was accumulated when they were anchored to the bottom of the ladder.

In response to me pointing out that they are in a significant net asset position, you responded that the profits were made while they were going well. You were clearly trying to suggest they mean less and that's why the debt is important.

The fact is, you tried to suggest they'd go bust with a 3rd Brisbane team and used the debts as reasoning. When it was pointed out that they are actually in a really good financial position, your response was that it's only because they were doing well.
