18th club, whose next?

And people still question why the Reds, Cows and Warriors defected to Super League?
The Cowboys were saddled with an $800k bill for flying opposition teams to Townsville. It wasn't the only reason the club was financially destitute in 1995, but it certainly contributed to it.

I'm genuinely shocked the RFL are making the same mistakes in 2024. They're 30 years behind us in terms of professionalism.

Pretty sure Catalans are still a “Guest” club in the League with no voting rights etc.

This is one of the biggest clubs in the comp that has been there nearly 20 years straight now. Toulouse & Toronto had to pay for travelling teams so the English clubs have obviously pushed for that for all “foreign” teams.
I wonder if Perth Red accuses RFL fans of having bumper stickers that say "F**k off. We're full."?

Big article on the back page of the Australian today, well worth a read if you have access.

PVL said they've had numerous talks with WA premier, WA are very keen for a team and have been great to deal with, also confirmed the NRL is interested in a stake in Super League, they'll have meetings with the big wigs of the ESL in Vegas.

There were rugby league related market surveys running in Perth last year.

Throw in they don’t give some expansion teams any money from the tv deal

Panthers were afraid if Sydney clubs got culled parra would be in and them out.

same for the sharks and dogs

raiders we’re about to get decimated by the roosters so fair enough

broncos had no legimiate reason to go to super league it was all about making even more profits
