Clubs conducting a financial business case on the impact of Team 17 is just good governance. The headline sensationalises sound business practices.

If anything the 5 clubs that didn't, are probably run shambolicly.

He wants govt money, I doubt very much he thinks png is a great idea either. Looks likely png will be club 18 Unless there is a change of govt spend.
clubs don’t want it, only 1 thinks it’s a good idea. Tv won’t want it, it offers nothing to them. He’ll have to offer them both something I’d suggest to make it happen.

You dismissed Simon Fordham's comment about Ch9 wanting another team in Brisbane.

Now you're saying the broadcasters' opinion on expansion will determine who gets the 18th licence and will choose Perth and Christchurch?

How exactly do Perth and Christchurch benefit Ch9?

if we go to 20 clubs it looks very likely it will be Christchurch and perth in.

What are you basing this on?

A few opinion pieces in the paper?

If you're going by newspaper coverage then PNG, Bears and Jets are "most likely".

You're just making it up. Similar to your claim that V'landys isn't going to listen to the broadcasters' opinion. Or your claim that Ch9 don't want another Brisbane team.

Face it buddy, if it comes down to what's best for the broadcasters then Perth is pushing shit up a hill with a twig.

Vlandys comments over last 12 months, and lack of push back from the games stakeholders. Throw in wa govt support and a general consensus we need to do more of the games growth in nz and Perth and Christchurch are the two obvious choices for 19&20 if png get 18th spot.

If the current survey showed they opposed Perth and supported PNG, he would have said it was a good thing that they got that business case report.

What if another Brisbane team ends up like the Crushers?
I know you're a dumbarse, but you've outdone yourself this time. Brisbane Tigers have $135m in assets and are projected to be one of the four richest clubs in the NRL.

NRL expansion: Brisbane Tigers spruik $135m asset portfolio in bid to win 18th licence

A Brisbane expansion hopeful has declared they would instantly become one of the NRL’s wealthiest four clubs and could field a side before the 18th team’s 2027 inclusion.

Force got axed from Super Rugby. They're playing in front of 7k people at PRS.
Richest club in australian rugby, due to owners wealth, and investing heavily in local union. It’d be terrible if a Perth nrl team was in that situation lol.

it’s like you really struggle to understand context, and that what is happening in rugby union in this country as a sport is having a direct impact on their clubs.
None of which has any relevance to nrl in this country.

context, look it up.

be like me saying ‘yeh but what if they are as big as the eagles’. It would be out of context and therefore a dumb thing to say. No reason at all a perth nrl club can’t be a successful addition to The nrl .

You do realise that V'landys said Brisbane and Perth are both a chance of getting the 19th and 20th licences, right?

I'm yet to hear him say much about New Zealand 2.

None of us know how much support the WA Gov support will provide. What we do know is they said the club will not be run by the WA Gov and their only role is finding a third-party bidder.

Has the WA Gov said it will fund an upgrade of PRS and pay for a high performance training centre?

Has it committed to investing in juniors?

The Queensland Gov provided over a $1m towards the Brisbane Tigers' high performance training centre. I'm yet to see the WA Gov do anything like this for rugby league in Perth.

Wow $135m? Andrew Forrest is worth $18bn so if money is all that matters, I think the NRL would be happy for Perth to be like the Force.

When did he last say brisbane3 was a favourite?

he’s literally just said southern nz is an opportunity and has mentioned Perth numerous times due to govt support.

yeh it’s surprising isn’t it that the wa govt doesn’t spend much on a sport that has continually ignored the state for 30 years? Who’d have thought it wouldnt be a priority spend area for them? Meanwhile they’ve spent hundreds of millions on many other sports that do care about WA.

vlandys has said a couple of times now that his conversations with the wa premier has made perth a favourite and that the govt are 100% behind a club. I’m guessing he has been impressed with what they are offering.

Spin it however you like with your irrelevant reference to Twiggy's wealth, but it doesn't change the fact the Force are drawing half as many fans as the Reds and Waratahs.

Tl;Dr

Force are unviable in the long term and a Perth-based NRL team won't have Twiggy to bail them out.

Brisbane3’s only hope is png doesn’t happen. If that happens then Perth will be 18 and it throws open a spot if and when game goes to 20. Though I wouldn’t put it past the dumb nrl to think pacific bears was a good idea lol

I wouldn’t be so definitive if I were you. I hope they don’t go to PNG and pick both Brisbane 3 and Perth as well as NZ 2 but who knows

For some one who rants about "context" you ain't too good at understanding it.

V'landys said sweet f**k all about Perth until the WA Premier begged and pleaded for a team and whinged about being ignored by the east coast.

Has he said Perth is guaranteed to have one of the next three licences?

The Christchurch bid is recent. Of course V'landys is going to talk about it.

Brisbane Tigers announced their intent to bid 10 months ago and said they're willing to wait for the 19th or 20th licence. V'landys knows they're keen and doesn't need to keep them interested with platitudes. If he has no intent of adding them then he should tell them so now.

V'landys also talks a lot of shit about the Bears and Jets. There's almost zero chance of them getting an NRL licence, but V'landys talks them up because it sells papers for the game's broadcast partners.

If it comes down to government support then Queensland will always offer more than Western Australia.

Thanks for confirming that Western Australians hate rugby league.

If the Dolphins continue to lack ambition and be firmly mid tier crowd and performance wise, I'd say the receny bias will disappear quickly and Bri3 will die off.
