You both hate "suburban" clubs from Brisbane and Sydney and believe the game needs to expand into Adelaide and Perth.
Plainly false.

There's a difference between saying we don't need more suburban clubs in the NRL and hating them as a concept.
I'm not totally against Adelaide and Perth, FWIW. However, the reasons people on here give for parachuting teams into Adelaide and Perth don't add up. The value of these cities is grossly overstated and the game is doing just fine without them.
I've never seen anybody arguing for 'parachuting' teams anywhere, I'm not even sure WTF you mean by that exactly.
You like to shit on the Dolphins for playing out of Dolphin Oval. Despite playing a few games at a small stadium, they managed to average 25k over 12 games. That's more than your club has ever pulled in one season.
And massively underachieved despite that.

They could, and should, have averaged over 30k+ in their first season. Their stupid decisions caused them to underachieve, their pattern of behaviour suggests that they'll continue to make stupid decisions and underachieve, and that ain't good for anybody.
The Dolphins are sponsored by the Moreton Bay Regional Council. For all we know their sponsorship deal might require them to play games in Moreton Bay?
Then it's a shit sponsorship deal.

BTW, you've totally failed to represent anything even approximating an opinion I hold. You don't really understand somebody unless you can steelman their position.

You're incredibly hateful towards "suburban clubs" whenever you speak about them. You're also very rude and aggressive towards anyone who supports a suburban club.

I've never seen anybody arguing for 'parachuting' teams anywhere, I'm not even sure WTF you mean by that exactly.

You've spoken ad nauseum about the sport never growing beyond its status as a minority sports in Adelaide and Perth until it puts NRL team in these cities. The game is still a minority sport in Melbourne, despite having the most successful professional rugby league team of the last 25 years.

Whenever it's pointed out to you that Adelaide doesn't have a consortium bidding for a licence you shout that they could have a team tomorrow if it was funded by the ARLC. In other words, you want a team parachuted into Adelaide because it's the only way it will get one. I've seen you whinge about no one talking about Adelaide.

You'll tell me that I've misinterpetted your position, then call me a moron and a drug addict. Then you'll say you've got better things to do than to state your position.

And massively underachieved despite that.

They could, and should, have averaged over 30k+ in their first season.

They drew an average greater than 30k to their games at Lang Park. Most of their games were played at Lang Park. If they didn't play any games at Lang Park then their average would be not far behind the Broncos.

That is proof they've got at least 30k active fans willing to attend their games.

What more do you want?

Their stupid decisions caused them to underachieve, their pattern of behaviour suggests that they'll continue to make stupid decisions and underachieve, and that ain't good for anybody.

You want Brisbane 2 to be able to pull 30k fans to Lang Park, yeah?

They succeeded on this front.

The only thing they're doing wrong is playing a few games at Dolphin Oval.

If they were pulling 20k or less to their games at Lang Park then you might have a point. The club is getting more than 30k to these games. Stop whinging. The sky isn't falling.

Then it's a shit sponsorship deal.

It's one of the largest in the NRL.

BTW, you've totally failed to represent anything even approximating an opinion I hold. You don't really understand somebody unless you can steelman their position.

FMD you're an irritating bastard.

Saying 'the ARLC don't want to fund a new team' in Adelaide or Perth isn't a valid response when it comes to discussing the new expansion opportunities.

Both NZ "bids" and PNG have no long term funding model either.

I havnt been following this thread for a while but what's the latest on the 18th team ?

Still looking like PNG ? ( please no! ) any chance it'll be Perth or NZ2 ?

I read some where that Samoa and Tonga may have a team in NSW Cup ? Any substance to that ? On that piont, why not test the waters for Perth, NZ2, Adelaide .. etc by giving them a NSW/QLD team ? And while we're at it, why don't we have a TV deal for NSW cup ? The games would get about 80k viewers, that's enough for a TV deal and making the comp semi professional.

Perth Red is against a Perth-based team in the Queensland/NSW Cup because it is too expensive.

Biased Blues fans will never acknowledge reality. We're talking about people so backwards they reach for their pitchforks when people talk about taking away their precious hills at Sydney's dilapidated suburban grounds.

How many "pokies" are funding the Western Clydesdales?
Had to drop out before as couldn't afford to stay in, only in year 2 this time. Im sure their NRL partner, Bulldogs, is tipping some in as well.
You honestly saying a $1.5-2mill a year second tier club can get by on attendance (@$10 a ticket), chuck raffles and sponsors alone?

I'm genuinely interested in seeing a breakdown of their financials.

Didn't you used to argue that one of the Dragons or Sharks should be culled because they cover a small population?

Says West Coast are smaller than Broncos because of ratings but Dolphins are 2nd biggest NRL club because of crowds and memberships, hmm.
Yes he did... many many MANY TIMES, BUTTT
He has since reformed his opinions on the clubs that currently exist in the NRL, purely out of spite tho...its some petty squabble with PR, but he has been coming up with some valid reasoning, there are a lot of blow hearts here who are have massive BS reasonings to merge, cull, delete, relegate or expand certain clubs, its nice to see a change, even if its not completely genuine, (and like i said for petty revenge/spite) if anything its meant the 'L' word has been given a break and there's a lot less Singapores mentioned

My opinion on rationalisation and relocation has changed over the years. There was a time when I genuinely thought the game would benefit from rationalisation and relocation. It's quite common for people outside of Sydney to hold this attitude due to the state of Leichhardt Oval, Brookvale Oval, Campbelltown Stadium, Kogarah and Shark Park. These days I think rationalisation and relocation would cause more harm than good. I do believe some clubs are limited in how big they can grow and should take some of their higher drawing games to the SFS And Parramatta Stadium, but I now realise that cutting them will create a void that cannot be filled.

Watching RU and A-League fall into obscurity, despite their expansion into new markets, was another reason for my rethink on relocation and rationalisation. If expansion and "neutral" branded clubs is the way to go then Super Rugby and A-League wouldn't be in such a terrible position. The two biggest leagues in this country are based around "suburban clubs" and growing stronger each year.

See, you haven't got the foggiest f**king clue what I think about anything, and you don't care to try and understand. All you've got is a list of perceived grievances that you repeat ad nauseam, and clog every single thread with.

I've repeated my stance on all of these issues to you, and others, so many times that I don't really see the point in doing it again (especially when it comes to the Dolphins). If you ain't figured it out by now you never will, and you're behaviour shows that you really have no intent of actually trying to understand opposing points of view.

So what's the point in engaging with you at all? We get it, you're pig ignorant and proud, but there's no meat on that bone.

Your opinion on everything and anything changes as soon as your perceived ingroup and outgroup changes. Somebody says something you don't like = bad guy, therefore everything they say must be wrong and everybody who opposes them must = good guy, and therefore correct, until they something you don't like and the cycle repeats.

All the rationalisation that comes afterwards is just that; post hock rationalisations to justify your initial emotional reaction.

There should be pictures of you next to the definitions of tribal epistemology and intuitive and emotional thought processes.
