Farout you guys love your % how about open your front door, go for a walk and open your eyes fmd
A little over one-fifth of Australians work casually. The amount of money earnt from casual employment barely covers the cost of living.

I honestly think we're going to see more people living in poverty over the next 20 years. It's what happens when a country loses its manufacturing sector and is controlled by corrupt worker unions. Higher wages and increased red tape leads to the cost of goods going through the roof. The only thing keeping us going right now is inflated property prices brought on by relaxed laws on foreign ownership. There will come a stage when there won't be any more pristine land in the major cities to sell to Indian and Chinese nationals at an inflated rate. In the mean time the young people struggle to find a flat and may never be able to afford their own home.

Property prices in Brisbane and Melbourne are so high they're forcing people to move to Adelaide and Perth.

I'm assuming this is in relation to an increase in homeless people? Because how else would you pick out 'dole bludgers'?
The employment statistic isn't just some guy walking down the street taking a survey. It's based off all the data the government has on each of us - TFN etc. It's a fair bit more accurate than subjective experience.
If seeing an increase in homeless people really bothers you, your anger would be better placed against the mental health crisis and Cost of living.

To be fair to the Bears they haven't played in top flight Rugby League for about a generation and the board is voluntary, so at a guess diehards. Also they were only around for a small period of time when attracting women to the game was put at the forefront. So it's actually possible that the best qualified and most interested are men only. But maybe that's why it's a good idea to have a less qualified/slightly less passioante woman on the board to bring a perspective that may increase female interest in the Bears.

If I'm running a club and want to connect to say the Indian community, I'm getting people within the Indian community to be heavily involved in the decision-making process. If I'm wanting them to be 50% of my fanbase, It would be a priority to get them on the board.

I don't have a problem with the best qualified person getting the job, regardless of their immutable characteristics.

My contention is affirmative action causes more harm than good because it leads to people thinking the less qualified person got the role due to their immutable characteristics. Affirmative action can run companies into the ground and lead to chaos for everyone involved.

No it’s got nothing to do with homeless people, it’s got to do with people just hanging out at the local shopping centre on weekdays doing nothing but being pests.

Apparently a woman’s hairdo is relevant to her ability to run a football club. This is 1990s stuff.
It was Raelene Castle and from memory everybody bagged her out for her look. Pretty sure she was driven out of most of the positions she held, Bulldogs, Rugby Aust etc.

And Marino go at the tigers was awful
Gender is irrelevant to performance. Gender balance is important for driving a modern business. Doesn’t have to be 50% and I’m not a fan of quotas but with league looking to have a stronger female player base it only makes sense to have more women in powerful positions.

And we wonder why our main competitor is much more popular among women, which is reflected in the gender mix at their games.

Yeah because more women are going to play league because there are more women on leagues clubs boards ?.
The average fan wouldn’t have a clue on the makeup of their boardroom and who is on it, except for possibly the CEO or the Chairman.

I’d suggest you do some research before gobbing off. I doubt it would make any difference in your case unfortunately.

Why ?, I know plenty of girls who play league, they do so because they want to play league or they choose a club with a good reputation or professional pathways, nothing to do with the boardroom.
The Bears have teams in the Lisa Faola and Tarsha Gale Competitions, last year the Bears reached the GF of the Harvey Norman Womens competition.
Nobody gives a shit about a woman sitting in the boardroom as long as the females are being successfully catered for like the men, and they are.
