Wrong.

Regions with a high proportion of Indigenous Australians overwhelmingly voted yes in the referendum – including the community where prominent no campaigner Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s family is from.

In the Northern Territory seat of Lingiari, which takes in Alice Springs and where 40% of the population is Indigenous, 58% voted against the voice and 42% voted in favour.

But 74% of the 11,000 people that live in Lingiari’s remote areas voted yes, according to figures provided by Labor MP for Lingiari, Marion Scrymgour.

The highest vote in support of yes was in Wadeye, at 92.1%. The Tiwi Islands voted 84% in favour, and Maningrida recorded an 88% yes vote.

Only one of the 20 mobile remote polling booths in the seat recorded a majority no vote.

In Yuendemu, the community home to the family of Price, shadow minister for Indigenous Australians, three in four people voted yes.

McCarthy pointed out early polling results from Queensland showed on Palm Island, where the population is 93% Indigenous, three in four voted yes.

On Mornington Island, where 77% of the population is Indigenous, McCarthy said 79% voted yes. And in Lockhart River, where almost 80% of people are Indigenous, 66% voted in favour.

You proved my point, that you're the arrogant know-it-all.

ACT was the only state/territory to vote in favour you obnoxious know-it-all.

ACT is Canberra plus a few small country towns.

Northern Territory, which has the highest ratio of Aborigines in the country, voted 60.5% against the proposal.

You do understand the concept of sub-populations dont you? Youve clearly been shown that the vast majority of areas with a large % of ATSI community members voted yes. But keep deluding yourself that your redneck opinions are somehow justified. Pauline would be proud of you.

not all Queenslanders have massive chips on their shoulders like Donkey by the way... nor are they overly xenophobic. Brisbane is really no different to any of the other state capitals in terms of people or culture. Regional QLD (not including GC or SC) is more conservative but even Toowoomba has its "hipster" cafe's, laneways and craft beer bars.

It doesn't matter if a small community with 1,000 people voted yes. All that matters is what six states and two territories wanted. Only one jurisdiction voted "Yes", and it was one ohe whitest in the country. There's less than 9k Aborigines in ACT. Queensland has the second highest Aborigine population in Australia. Northern Territory has the highest propotion.

I'm a redneck because I think all races should be treated equally and fairly?

Go f**k yourself.

Poms aren't in any position to talk about race politics. They spent hundreds of years oppressing and slaying the indigenous Celts of Wales and Scotland, then decided to sail around the world and massacre people who didn't have modern weaponry to defend themselves.

It does when you are making a claim that Aboriginal people didnt want this voice to justify your own racist leanings! Clearly many of them did. And you need to learn the context of equality over equity.

haha, not like you to dwell on the past, sure English people were shtheads 200 years ago. Whats queenslands excuse now?

Jacinta Price voted "No". She's an Aborigine from the NT.

White people from Canberra think they know better than Jacinta Price about what is best for Aborigines in remote Australia.
mate stop doubling down on your stupidity. Max clearly showed you some data from ATSI communities. Because one person voted one way in NT doesn't mean everyone in Canberra was wrong lol.

Do you even know what the referendum was about?

If it was passed then non-indigenous Australians would have needed to pay taxes to Aboriginal groups for the land they live on, the beaches and parks they visit and the water they drink.

You're too stupid to even know what the referendum was about you old dickhead.
lol, now you're just deflecting after being shown to be a total dckhead, again. tell us again how Aboriginal people in NT didnt want it. The whole land tax claim was shown to be racist propaganda BS and would have needed major other laws to be passed. Im not surprised you bought it.

It wasn't shown to be "racist propaganda. There's a video of radical communist Thomas Mayo talking about "pay the rent" and "reparations".

Many Aborigines in Northern Territory didn't want it, FWIW. They make up 25% of the NT population. The ones who voted yes are communists like Thomas Mayo who believe non-indigenous Australians should "pay the rent".

Again one radical persons opinion on what might have happened way into the future if he got his way, there was nothing in what was proposed that would have changed what we have now in regards land useage, tax or water (wtf?) lol.
I'd suggest you turn Sky news off.

It wasn't just "one radical". Here's an actual case of an Aboriginal group demanding $2.5m in exchange for 120 volunteers to plant 5,500 shrubs along the Canning River. The WA Gov passed a "Cultural Heritage" law which was used by this group to extort money from non-indigenous Australians.

Things like this are the reason people voted "No".

Every post you make proves you are the arrogant know-it-all that you were talking about. You were proven wrong. No matter how much you post, you were still proven wrong. I'd recommend changing the topic and dribbling about Perth as usual.

Oh by the way, white people made up the majority of the no votes, and the majority of Aboriginal people voted yes, so by your logic, you think you know better than Aboriginal people who actually live in remote Australia.

haha, not that it had anything at all to do with what was proposed in the constitutional change, do you actually know what was proposed? lol, but again a rogue bloke who was sacked the next day from his job after the ridiculous demand and the govt confirming the act was not for that purpose. Guess what, the tree planting happened and no money was exchanged! But dont let that stop your racist propaganda, Im sure you can find some other News ltd BS stories to justify your position on this. (ps the act was brought in after the wanton destruction of 46k year old Aboriginal site in the Pilbara by Rio Tinto who couldnt be held accountable as the old laws drafted in 1972 were done so to protect mining exploration of the time)
