No, not a small amount of players. It's never going to be an attraction to live a 5 hour flight away from friends and family. That flight is brutal.
Sydney to Melbourne is like 1hr , nothing.
The Storm have feeder teams in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney now. For the Storm to keep an eye on thier talent prospects, they have to flight 1 or 2 hours.
Guaranteed 5 hours each way... geez
No wonder Perth reds went down without a fight.

It is a barrier full stop. If players from Sydney are hesitant to go to Newcastle or Canberra because its too far away then they're going to be hesitant to go 4000 kms away.

Players will go to Perth for sure, but you are going to either pay overs for the stars leaving litle left for other players or you'll pay overs for players who are fringe first graders.

The issue Isn't getting players there, anywhere offering a 1st grade spot will fill it with players, its about getting your Cameron Munsters, and Nathan Clearys there... it will never happen, but they can grow there own players with there own comps, just gotta start, and be persistent to not dump them after their inital 5 years of losing (if it comes to that)

Perth is a small boring city and once you're in Perth, you're in Perth, there's nowhere else you can pop into.

Perth people don't get it because they're used to it. Sydney alone is the size of 3 Perths, 1 hour and you're in Melbourne, 1 hour and you're in Brisbane, Gold Coast.
There's choices! Places you haven't been!
You live in Perth then you probably know what lies around every corner.

Perth is a lot further away than Melbourne and a lot less accessable. Support networks for players and probably more importantly, player partners, are a long way, away. And yes I know all about telephones and zoom. Perth's isolation will affect player movement and commitment if a side goes there.

There are ~ 150 flights from Sydney to Melbourne a day. Flight time = 1.5 hrs. Drive time about 10 hrs

Brisbane to Sydney ~ 90. Flight time = 1.5 hrs. Drive time about 12.

Perth to Sydney? 4 hrs flight time, ~ 30 per day. Driving? Forget about it.
