Again WA have already had 10,000 players in the 90s when the pathway was there. Shifting ~4,000 to 10,000 participants by investing in pathways is a reasonable uptick in the overall country wide participation rate in the game.

Just because there were 10k players in 1995 doesn't mean there will be that many in the future.

There's been a huge decline in cricket participants across England over the last 30 years. There's plenty of professional cricket teams in England.

Fumbleball is now bigger in Perth than it was in 1995.

Rugby union has been well established in Perth since 2007.

By 2000 the registrations had dropped below 1000 in WA. With some renewed vigor and investment they have got back up to 4000. Its not like there isnt evidence of what investment can do for participation and quality of outcome of sports!

Theres a lot more expat RL area people in Perth now than there was in 1990. Why can union get 12k but Rl couldnt get 10k AGAIN? You have so little faith in our product.

A lot Im sure, and from North of England, which is great we didnt lose them to other sports. Even more people than ever are coming here from East coast, lets give them more reasons to stick with RL. Lets make sure their kids dont grow up playing other sports instead. Lets make Rl vibrant and a strong choice across Australia. We've got a great sport, lets keep building it.

yeh becasue that would make sense lol. One im not a multi-millionaire and two if I was I there would be numerous charities in front of RL Id be donating to.

Im not poor but Im not rich, well not rich enough to justify funding a sport that gets $600mill a year in revenue!

Im not expecting people in Brisbane to do anything. Im expecting the ARLC to meet its mandate and I'm expecting them to put more of the money they take out of WA back into WA.

It really isnt, its their kids Im interested in. If RL isnt in their schools, isnt what their mates might be playing and if there isnt a club with 20km of them then odds are they wont choose it regardless of where their parents grew up. Why does QRL need $20million a year of funding if what you are saying is true? Why does AFL invest hundreds of millions in grassroots? How do sports grow their particpation if kids are already 100% set based on geographical borth places?
Theres plenty of evidence of sport growing interest. We would never have got 45k to an NSWRL game in 1994. We did to an NRL game last year. Things change.

It really isnt, its their kids Im interested in. If RL isnt in their schools, isnt what their mates might be playing and if there isnt a club with 20km of them then odds are they wont choose it regardless of where their parents grew up. FFS.

QRL needs funding because it has lots of competitions to run over the entire state. It's not cheap running stateside competitions from juniors to seniors. Queensland is the least centralised state in Australia. It's not like WA where the majority of people live in Perth.

Are you demanding the ARLC buy up real estate across Perth and build clubs on the land?

That's a very expensive exercise and won't provide any commercial return. There's no guarantee it will lead to a significant rise in participation. If anything, it might weaken the existing clubs.

The GPS system in Brisbane and Sydney doesn't include rugby league. What makes you think things will be different for Perth?

AwFuL is paying new schools in Queensland to reserve ovals for fumbleball. Using your logic, we need to spend more money on schools in Queensland to ensure the next generation play rugby league.

The ARLC Chairmen said no money will be wasted on rusted on AFL states. That means no funding at the junior level will be squandered on WA. The fact you haven't gotten that through your skull is embarrassing.

What incentive does a Perth-based NRL club give children to choose RL over RU?

It's not like the Kangaroos have a higher profile than the Wallabies.

A WA junior won't be eligible for Origin.

Bledislow Cup games in Perth are still popular and draw bigger crowds than Origin and RL Tests.

A Kiwi in Perth has the Super Rugby competition to follow with teams from all over New Zealand. NRL only has one.
