Wasn't one of the courier mail articles some weeks/months ago, saying that Brisbane was blocked out due to the last one being there, could've sworn Peter badel stating that
Didnt notice that. Id be surprised for club 20. That would be potentially 7-9 years after Dolphin KO?
Having said that if the media is to be believed and it is Perth then PNG I really really hope club 20 is Christchurch and we dont spend it on another heartland area.

That new Chch stadium is the only reason it's getting considered... these bidders from nz are poo
Nothing to suggest anything is real about them, whilst the east tigers sweat away and take the bears hibernation title.... be smart eastsTs, move to become Adelaide FFs, you'll be straight in like flynn

yeh they havent engendered confidance for sure. Ones a great grassroots movement but has no money. The others experienced sports administrators but some with less than glowing track records and again little sense of where the moneys coming from.
There was talk of a third christchurch bid of big money backers. Maybe thats the one?
If Cumins $30mill start up cost is accurate then its a fair bit of investment to raise for a business that only turns over $1-2mill profit in a good year.

Where's Easts Tigers at in all this expansion chatter? Have they given up or quietly putting a bid in to be team 20 in 2030?
Strange we haven't heard anything from them about their plans since they suggested they could partner with PNG in Oct last year. Has Richardson's departure signaled the end of their NRL ambitions?

There's a gag order

They'd (3 nz consorts) would be better served to join as one, they would be the equivalent of the jets/bombers/firehawks of last expansion, if they put aside their individual BS and collectively got together, again the ONLY reason they are even being considered is because of the stadium, sooner they make it a proper proposal with no downsides of lack of history/grassroots, funds or branding

there in lies the problem, partnerships are not easy to make work! Each wants control and thinks theres is the best way. Dragons, Tigers and Northern Eagles have show us that. Where AFL got it right was not creating partnerships but effectively creating new clubs with new single owners but using established brands. A reason I still have much trepidation about the Perth Bears, business marriages rarely last!

Here's the article by Peter badel, Brisbane blockout

Different kettle those NRL mergers, Perth is not a merger, again you are one entity, bears your moniker, colors of red, black, etc ... the business run by wa, played in wa... not two clubs, maybe ownership is an issue, but that's not a merger, that's just who is and how many owners/percentage of influence...
That happens at Parra, bulldogs, souths, Penrith, don't have to be a merger team to have boardroom antics

In late April 1945 Adolf Hitler married Eva Braun in a small civil ceremony.

Within 48 hours he shot himself in the head.

Marriage is hard.

Careful the racist getridofthedronkey will get upset that you favor croats over nazis, might even get some bloated history lesson in world war 2 that has zero to do with expansion in the NRL, yet somehow is solved with granting a licence to east tigers only

it is very much 2 ownership entities. The WA consortium and the NSFC. Both will presumably sit on the board and no doubt there will be points of conflict . For example say in a couple of years the club wants to move the nsw cup team to be based in perth because it wants more emphasis on WA jnr pathways, but that is seriously detrimental to the NSFC. I can think of a myriad possible points of conflict re brand and pathways where the two ownership groups could be at loggerheads.
